"The swimming area was very good, clean and staff approachable. The evening meal was another matter. I am diagnosed coeliac and when l told them one waitress thought gluten free and coeliac were two different intolerances. When the manager was told , he bought me pages and pages of listings for me to check whether what l was ordering was g/f. Not very helpful! However breakfast was more understanding, knowledgeable and helpful. One person in every 100 according to the BBC this very morning are coeliac and small cafes and larger chains are now all geared up with g/f listed on menus, it’s about time Best Western got up to date with gluten free as well or someone could be very ill with the restaurant staff lack of knowledge about intolerances. "

"Stay at hotel great. Brilliant with dogs! Reception and staff generally extremely helpful. Sadly cannot say same for Hotels.com. Booked room with note I had two dogs. Contacted some time later bye Hotels.com to say I couldn't have dogs in that room and they apparently couldn't get Stratton House to agree to move me to a dog friendly room. ie I had to lose my deposit. Called Stratton House directly myself and they moved me with no issue at all and didn't charge me to move rooms. Would visit Stratton House again but never use Hotels. com again!"

"Breathtakingly beautiful. The staff are so incredibly friendly and helpful, always on hand to help or answer any questions. The facilities at De Vere are great, they have a booking system so it never gets too crowdy, which is nice. The grounds are simply stunning and well worth a visit on your stay, we went during sunset and in the morning/afternoon and it took our breath away everytime. The inside is just as beautiful. The convenience of the restaurants is great too and the food is delicious. We cannot fault a thing about De Vere. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend for anyone thinking about staying! "

"Friendly, polite and efficient staff. Good food choice in the bar, clean and well maintained room. Lots of development going on near the hotel as of April 25, main road next to it but excellent soundproofing so an undisturbed rest."

"Parking was easy and check in was smooth and efficient. The room was quite small but comfortable. Very comfortable bed which meant we slept well. We did have a problem with our key cards though. For some reason they worked once but then they wouldnt work again so we had to keep going to reception to get a new one. Breakfast was ok but we didnt have cooked. The spa was nice but there was nowhere to sit as all tbe loungers were being used. They could do with a few more seats really. The area around the poolside was extremely slippery. There were large pools of surface water as we walked around the pool and my husband actually slipped as we went in but luckily i caught his arm and stopped him from falling. It made me quite nervous after that. "
