The Stirling Highland Hotel

"The location is perfect. The hotel is an old building but has had money spent on it. We paid for half board, which worked out very good value. We got £35 towards our evening meal and a very good breakfast. My gripe with the hotel is everything is extra, parking £10 a day (we pre-booked through the company running it and it was cheaper.) The swimming pool is extra, breakfast not included in some prices too. However the food was excellent and it I would return. Staff excellent but like a lot of hotels now service for our excellent evening meal was slow."

"The property is very clean, nicely located next to Bannockburn Battleground, has a great dining/bar area that's open until 8:30p. One thing to note: the walls/floors are not well-insulated; as such, we were pleased when the snorer in the room next to us eventually rolled over and stopped. We quite mistakenly didn't have our earplugs with us which we normally do; this would have removed this slight obstacle. So as any good traveler would, make sure you bring these along and you'll thoroughly enjoy your stay. The vast majority of the staff is extraordinarily friendly; one slight exception in the breakfast area when we were directed to a table right next to the heating unit and asked if we could be seated anywhere else (we dined at that same table the night before and didn't want to be re-heated again). This wasn't very well-received initially; but all ended well."

"An excellent little holiday property. The living room area was exactly as advertised, large yet welcoming. The small bedroom with two beds is a bit smaller than expected, and the beds are quite narrow; not a problem for us, but might be an issue if you have two children that like to annoy each other (my brother and I could not have shared that room!!) The master bedroom was exceptional and I did not realise it came with it's own toilet, which made made things so much easier for myself. The kitchen had almost everything you could ask for; although while not advised on the listing, you will need to bring your own dishcloths and tea towels (just for info, bath towels are provided in the bedrooms). There was a power outage while we were at the property , and when I rang, the staff were most helpful in identifying that it was a planned outage by the power company, however that information would clearly have been helpful to know in advance. The only real downside was the drain smell coming from the sink in the main washroom. An air freshener was enough to keep the odour within the bathroom, but it was quite irking when in the toilet."

"We have stayed five days there, it is nice and cosy place it has got everything you need, you just need to bring your own food, I haven’t liked that the check - in starts at 3pm but when you need to check - out is very early, at 10 am, I understand it is policy, but bare it in mind if you travel from far, you might want to book more days, also there was no sitting area outside, like at least plastic chairs or something similar if you want to enjoy the view, we have cought not so cold weather maybe this why the heating was not working (there was small electirc one, not enough for all the area) Overall we enjoyed much as we were exploring the area, would reccomend and come back there again. "
