"Wonderful cottage, a perfect size for our family of 4. The accommodation is on a working farm but was quiet throughout with lovely gardens. Alton Towers was a short drive away as well as sports for hiking / nature. "

No phone makes it extremely difficult for overseas visitors to contact reception. Even the charming lady on reception who confirmed that these amenities were not offered in the hotel states that they were a budget hotel ‘but maybe not - we are quite expensive’. "

The only negative was that we hadn’t realised that bathroom would be downstairs, which resulted in the kids being a bit anxious about going on their own, as it’s a shared house and they weren’t comfortable wandering around the house on their own with strangers. Not a problem for the adults, but the kids weren’t comfortable. "

"We stayed in a double room for the purposes of visiting Alton Towers. The location was perfect being about 40 minutes away. The room was basic but clean and comfortable with a private shower and toilet. No tv but this was fine. Downstairs had a communal kitchen and seated area which was clean. I only used facilities to make a cup of tea. Joseph (manager) was welcoming, friendly and was always nearby to answer any questions. £20 refundable deposit was required for the room key. "It was extremely disappointing to discover that the photos on the website did not reflect the reality of the property. Upon arrival, the house looked nothing like what was advertised. I had booked a room for two people, but the space was far too small to comfortably accommodate us. On top of that, the entire house was unclean, which made the stay even more unpleasant. Overall, a very disappointing experience."
