At 03:15 in the morning, the hotel fire alarm went off. It was very loud, so loud in fact that it was quite painful and made me worry about hearing damage. All of the guests had to evacuate by the back stairway into the cold and rain. After ten minutes, the alarm finally stopped. The front desk attendant told us later that it was a false alarm, caused by someone smoking in their room. Seriously, the whole hotel was evacuated at 03:15 because someone was smoking in their room - what kind of a fire alarm system does that? I requested a discount or refund from the cost of the night's stay, but the hotel management refused to give any compensation. Very bad customer service; will not return to this property again.
