This is an amazing apartment/hotel from which to explore Paris. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms are clean and include everything I needed for a week-long stay. The 'gym' is just a couple of exercise machines, but I got most of my exercise just walking around and exploring the city.
In fact, I found the location of the hotel to be ideal for exploring Paris. It's a 3 minute walk to the Metro, and if you enjoy walking and/or renting bikes and scooters, you can easily reach most parts of the city within 20-40 minutes.
The 12th Arrondissement itself may not be the most famous part of Paris but has a lot going for it. There are two supermarkets within 10 minutes of the hotel along with many other specialty shops.
For foodies, there's also the open-air Marché d'Aligre within walking distance, which is a genuine French farmers' market with extraordinary produce and craft foods, among other things. (It was especially hopping on Sunday morning.) Having a kitchen and refrigerator in the hotel means that you can take advantage of these kinds of markets in ways that other tourists can't.
Overall, this was a great aparthotel that allows for an easy exploration of this extraordinary city.
