"Sugar Beach is all grown up, loved the new cabins with spa bath in the terrace, great for cooler October evenings. I also think the lagoon has been cleared of a lot of rocks etc making it easier for adults to swim. Staff were lovely and the site looks so pretty with all the planting. Only thing that is not so good was the food, which was perfectly fine, but could be better"

"I have never written a negative review, however, I am so disappointed with this hotel. Firstly, the room had a constant strong awful smell, which after reading some other reviews, may have been the smell of sewage. The duvet, which had no clean cover on, had a faceal smear on it! The constant thumping of loud music into our room from the hotel 2100hrs to midnight and from next door during the day, meant there was no escape. My wife had the most terrible food poisoning which meant we were stuck in our room for a couple of days. All this lead to us switching hotels after four torturous days. The Manager wasn’t interested and when checking out, couldn’t be bothered to speak to us about this. He said he was coming over to discuss the stay, then 20min after waiting for him, we were told he wasn’t coming! What a shame as the hotel is set a lovely bay. No attempt at communication or a refund has been made. "

"Room was clean with hot water shower. Tea and coffee facilities. Staff were very pleasant and courteous. Bar area with swim up seats, had some lovely cocktails from barman Daren. Breakfast was a mixture of hot and cold dishes which was more than adequate. Lovely boutique hotel close to town."

"The only factor concerning was with regards to wifi connection. I was not able to access the free wifi facility in hotel , also even the phone signal was too low since our room was located below the ground level . Rest all services and our stay , breakfast and the entire surrounding was superb!!"

"Avoid this hotel at all costs! An absolute disgrace. We specifically requested a room in a quieter part of the hotel. On the first morning we were woken up by loud noise outside our room from 6am - 8am, when we raised this reception told us "this is impossible" because they have sound proofing. We went to the room, I stood on the balcony and the staff pretended they couldn't hear me speak, thankfully my partner was there and called them out for lying. On day two we returned back to our room to find the roof had leaked and was flooding our room, the bed was soaked the floor was wet and items in our suitcase were wet too. That same evening, music suddenly started playing outside by the pool right across from our room at insanely loud levels. I can't emphasise enough how insanely loud this music was. It turns out the owner of the hotel had invited 30 of his university friends for a party at his hotel! They brought a giant sound system blasting music for around 4 hours straight. The staff kept saying it would end soon, hours later it was still going, most of the staff had left, the only one still there told us "It's the bosses friends there's nothing I can do" and the man behind the bar even told us that we have no right to complain because "this is tourism" and they're legally allowed to blast music like this until 1am. Needless to say we checked out the next morning and got the money back for the rest of our stay. I wouldn't come back to this hell hole if they paid me. "
