"This has to have been one of the loveliest places we've ever stayed - every single detail had been thought of, and Ruth, the host, was just fabulous. The bed, bedding, free-standing bath, decor, snuggle bathrobes, decor, styling, cleanliness, warmth and welcome were all 5-star. The breakfast was also amazing; freshly-squeezed orange, locally-sourced full Welsh breakfast, accompanied by homemade bread and marmalade and countless cups of quality tea, and all served on the most beautiful china. Montgomery itself is a little fairytale village, and The Old Stores feels like an extension of the story - visiting in the spooky season, with gold and red leaves painting the trees and pavements, rain pattering against the window, and Hallowe'en decorations everywhere, just added to the perfection. Next time we'll stay longer than the one night!"
