We had a absolutely lovely stay at Blarcreen. It's a beautiful secluded spot, perfect for excursions into the surrounding area. David and Deirdre were the most wonderful hosts, providing delicious breakfasts, excellent recommendations for things to do in the surrounding area, and always
This is the best B&B you can imagine. Beautiful landscapes, wonderful food, and warm, inviting hosts that make you feel like family. We will definitely be staying here again!
Deidra, David and their son were some of the nicest most hospitable people I’ve ever met. I can’t remember ever having a more peaceful comfortable stay anywhere. Breakfast and dinner were amazing, the company and surroundings fantastic!!
Absolute gem of a place.
My husband and I stayed Monday -Friday and wished we had booked for longer.
We where in room 3 and have absolutely no complaints. Clean and tidy throughout.
The hosts Deidre and David are incredible. Full of knowledge about the area and just lovely people to be around.
Breakfast is second to none (especially the black pudding).
Surroundings area is stunning. Great for walks or just relaxing.
Will be booking up again.
Thank you so much
Blarcreen is one of the best places we have ever stayed. I feel like not only was the place, the surroundings, the service amazing… you leave feeling you’ve made friends with the hosts and the guests. It’s more of a fabulous experience rather than a stay. The house and rooms are beautiful and feel luxurious, the breakfast was superb, the service was fantastic and the views, the wildlife and the night sky and not forgetting the roaring fire on an evening makes this place. Would go again in a heartbeat.
Beautiful surroundings, were doing a gentle cycling holiday, fantastic location for trails around Loch Etive and the fabulous route 78. Room was very tastefully decorated with grand four poster, big room. Large bathroom with good sized bath, I'm 6'2, no shortage of hot water. Couldn't ask for nicer hosts, go there.
We stayed here for one night on our honeymoon road trip through the highlands, and my husband and I agreed that next time we will stay here so much longer.
Blarcreen is absolutely delightful!
(Don’t trust your in-vehicle map system to get there!) It is so peaceful, so idyllic and beautiful, the views are spectacular and your hosts are absolutely delightful, helpful, and provided a beautiful breakfast. By far our favorite place we have ever stayed.
Beautiful 200 years old farm in prestine location along a loch. Just heavenly! And (no surprise) the hostess Deirdre is an angel. Very kind and helpful.
Breakfast is fantastic. Nice cozy lounge with fireplace and a wide variety of scotch. Lots to see and do in the area. We stayed only two nights. Should have stayed four….
Stunning views all around! The House was like a step back in time, plush and inviting. It was located far enough away for some time to relax, but close enough to see the Isle, Oban and the wonderful area in Glencoe. BUT the best part of the stay were the host, David and Deidre. We couldn’t have asked for better host and their treatment of their guest was so hospitable. They were so helpful! They made a dinner reservation for us as we were driving in, they took us to the bus stop to go into Oban, they suggested the most wonderful tour guide that treated us royally, and they provided us with wellies so we could go traipsing around the grounds. If you need a true vacation with beauty and peace all around, this is your place! Scotland at it’s best.
The property is 4.5 miles off any main road and needs careful navigating to get there. Satnav takes you to a three way intersection but you are not there yet. If you are coming down a steep hill, take the LEFT fork and continue close to 1 mile and you will see their RED sign on the RHS. If you are coming the other way from Connel at the intersection DO NOT turn Left up the hill but continue straight on and about 1 mile further on will be the house on the RHS. Once you have made it, you will find it is very worthwhile!! A quiet pleasant rural location. The hostess, Diedre, is very pleasant and helpful; rooms a good size and all your needs are catered for. Excellent. For evening meals you will have to make your way back to Connel where there are a number of excellent Pubs or have your meal before you arrive. We had a wonderful two day stay. Tip: give yourself a little extra time to get there. The above instructions should assist.
We enjoyed a restful at this small B&B run by charming host Deirdre and her husband. Deidre welcomed us with a lovely light supper in an elegant dining room overlooking the pasture and water beyond. Breakfast with other guests was a delight. It was a memorable, relaxing experience in a beautiful setting.
This is more of an experience than just a place to stay. The property is breathtaking, and the owners are unbelievably charming and welcoming. If you want to experience the Scottish countryside and truly relax beside a working farm of sheep and cows, alongside a saltwater loch, this is the place to go. The food and drink they offer was also very good. In the future, I will definitely come back and it will be for much longer. You will not regret staying here.
