This hotel is wonderfully clean, food is always plentiful and restocked and the staff are a credit to the hotel , they are super friendly and helpful. Drinks at the bar are wonderful.
Regina in the Karibu restaurant is super efficient, helpful and friendly.
Pools are lovely and clean and there are plenty SunBeds.
The only small fault is that people go to the inside bars without tee shirts and maybe the dress code should be enforced more in the restaurants.

We stayed at the the Zalu for a week in October. We both had the most amazing holiday, the service at the hotel was lovely and had a really personal touch as is to be expected from a 5 star hotel. The staff were attentive and helpful in organising day trips. The beach and pool area were simply out of this world and the food in the restaurants was sublime. Whilst the portions initially seemed small after 3 or 4 courses we were both extremely satisfied as the food was just so good. The suite was...

From the moment we stepped into Lux* Hotel Zanzibar, we knew we were in for an extraordinary experience. The hotel itself is breathtaking, but what truly sets it apart is the staff—easily the friendliest I’ve ever encountered in my life.
A heartfelt thank you to Pina, who welcomed us with such warmth and grace. Her attention to detail and personal touches made our stay feel incredibly special. Pina’s genuine care and energy elevated our entire experience, and it’s safe to say she’s the heart of...

We loved Kilindi. My husband and I came here for 4 nights on our honeymoon. The property is gorgeous, and the friendly staff looked after us beautifully the entire time. Daudi was our personal attendant and he was so friendly and attentive without ever hovering over us. The chef makes incredible fresh meals, we didn't have a single thing at breakfast, lunch, or dinner that we didn't love. The bar makes great drinks and fresh daily juices.

Excellent option, friendly and extremely helpful staff. The only observation is that I found there to be too many Indian food options for both lunch and dinner and I missed more grilled food.

Amazing resort, perfect for relaxing and the friendliest staff with the F&B team going above and beyond. We had a lovely private dinner on the beach on our last night which was a perfect end to an unbelievable stay. Highly recommended and will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gold Zanzibar. On entering the grand reception we were greeted by very welcoming staff and felt the stress of our 15 hour travel melt away. Room was spotless, staff were great especially Rosie and the manager Megan. Location is great, it is set in a quieter part of the island which we loved, the pool is right near the beach so you can enjoy both at once, there is parking if you rent a car and the room are private and really well designed.

Incredibly family-friendly hotel. Fantastic service - from the head chef to the front house manager to the housekeepers, everyone working to make sure you got what you needed. As a family with 3 small children we very much appreciated this level of attention. Drawbacks were a mediocre kids club and lots of stairs up and down to the rooms. Food and entertainment were abundant and good, but not great. Was fully booked for most of the time we were there but didn't feel crowded.

We had our honeymoon at Meliá Zanzibar and had the best time. What we thought that really made the hotel exceptional was the service, staff, amenities (pools, beach), food and the grounds were all fantastic. We were made to feel very much at home. The staff were all friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They really made our stay very special. We have nothing but fantastic memories of Melia Zanzibar.

The room was cleaned daily, and the evening turndown service was a lovely touch. The staff were exceptional — every single member of the team went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail truly exceeded expectations. The spa was the best ever.

We stayed all-inclusive (good choice given the drinks prices) All the staff were really laid back – sometimes maybe a little too much but just go with it and chill – after all it’s what you are there for.
We had a lovely garden room. They are semi’s. Ours was quiet but I guess it depends on who’s next door. The TV had lots of channels including 3 film channels in English. The shower leaked & the bathroom floor got quite wet. There was a fridge in the room & we were left a large bottle of water...
