The most wonderful and friendly hosts, the house is in a beautiful setting and we would have stayed a little longer but were compromised by the Giro d Italia passing through.

Loved my stay here, dinner in restaurant was amazing and breakfast outstanding. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Even gave us a lift to train station so we could eat breakfast. Outstanding.

This was our sixth stay at the Bussola as Orta is somewhere we visit regularly. For the first time in a few visits we ate here too. We had forgotten how good the food is and having dinner and on the terrace overlooking the lake is the perfect location to enjoy it. The hotel staff were helpful

We picked the hotel as the picture appealed and the room met our expectations of something really different. The shower was brilliant! Breakfast offer nice and varied.

It was an amazing stay. The hotel is generally clean however, the floor in the room was not perfectly clean. You can see dust in the corners. The reception staff was very welcoming, friendly and professional. The breakfast was very good. Two minor inconvenience: 1) there is no lift and i had to carry 2 luggages to the second floor. 2) The main road is directly under the window, which makes the passing cars so noisy at night.

Loved our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel! The shuttle service from the train station was so helpful when we arrived (messaged beforehand). We also loved the breakfast and sauna.

This hotel was everything I dreamed. The rooms were stunning, beds comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, amazing view of the Matterhorn from our balcony on the second floor. Breakfast and our evening meal in the restaurant were both lovely, with a wide choice for breakfast options. We enjoyed some time in the indoor pool and spa. We had a lovely stay here and had the buffet breakfast in the morning, extremely central and only a 10 minute walk from the port and the train station. Felt like a very cosy and safe place, even had some board games available which we played

We loved staying in this hotel with its unique history and beautiful decor. It is a special place in a wonderful location and we had fabulous views from our balcony. The walk to Morcote took under 30 minutes with lovely views but you need to wear trainers as the path is uneven. We also enjoyed walking to the castle through the vineyards and exploring lake Lugano by bus and boat. We tended to get Uber taxi’s back up to to hotel as it was a steep climb ( cost 18CHF)

Wow what a place ! Amazing venue very clean and the staff are so helpful. Very quirky having to take 4 elevators to your room but all part of the charm. Room was spacious, clean and had everything needed, breakfast had a great selection with hot croissants. Definitely recommend

went out to stresa for my birthday as had never been for a short break. easily reached by alibus or train to stresa itself. great location, so beautiful loads to see and do. boats so easily available to taxi you about to other resorts on lake but so glad to of stayed in stresa. with the lake and views as far as you can see and the alps in distance lit up by the sun when it was out there nothing to do buy chill out, explore and soak up the scenery with lots of food and drink. hotel is 5 mins...

Stayed in a family room with an awesome view of matterhorn from the balcony. Room was big by swiss standards and the bathroom was also nice with natural light from rooftop. Breakfast is also very good. The spa and swimming pool facility is also superb. Staff was helpful and infact also got my broken bag handle repaired thus saving me the headache of going to town to find a repair shop. Will definitely stay here next time.
