Rooms are small, but clean. Staff very attentive and responsive. Rudy checked us in and was wonderful. Some construction in the area and work also being done inside the hotel is unattractive. Elevators are teeny, but there are several and they work well. Good location near the heart of Times Square, which, of course, makes for noisy nights.

The location is great. Very convenient to where we wanted to be. The rates were very reasonable and the room itself was fine. The beds were comfortable. Our air conditioning didn't work at all. It was 72 in the room the entire time. We were not provided any wash cloths. The lobby has a weird stale maple syrup and knock off drakkar noir smell. The entire property has a weird "Eyes Wide Shut" vibe. But I'm not sure how much of that is from being between two cults and how much is the dark lighting and weird pictures. Despite the Expedia listing saying we were paying fees and taxes we were charged another $120 "facility fee" at check in.

Our first room was smelling fishy then they changed it to a better room. I didn’t like few things about the Hotel: 1- Reception is too dark/ low light 2- I couldn’t reach the reception or the house keeping service to get a blanket. They never picked our calls at night. I had to wakeup at 6 am to go and ask for a blanket myself. 3- The ice machine wasn’t working 4- There was construction work in the Lobby area. It was too noisy even in the early morning the music was very loud.

This hotel is low budget but across from The Marquis Theatre. The entrance is sort of a non event and you will pass it if you are not paying attention. Tried to check in before seeing a Broadway show and they had nothing available. Was able to check in smoothly after show and dinner. They charge an extra resort fee and offer a $5 discount on drinks in the dark lobby. This hotel has no washcloths, irons, small fridge or thick blankets in the room. Got a double room and had to crank up the heat because the “blankets” were so thin. It’s New York City so it’s noisy and I was on the 10th floor. This is an expensive no frills hotel and I honestly do not recommend it. They get away with this mess because it’s in the theatre district. Just pay a little extra and stay at the The Marquis.

When I was checked in, the room I walked into was 81 degrees with a thermostat set to 72 and on "Cool". The AC just wasn't working. I was immediately given a different room upon request, but then THAT room was a balmy 77 with the thermostat set to 67 and "Cool". It never got below 77 and was hot all night long. My bathroom window had no blinds and the glass was barely stenciled - everyone gets to see you shower or sit on the toilet. This hotel was nicer when it opened about 30 years ago, but it shows its age and needs some TLC in the rooms. Both rooms I was given show their wear and tear, like a totally rusty radiator, lack of adequate towels, minimal amenities.

There was a couple things that could have made the experience better. There was no trashcan, so we had to make our own pile. And the window didn’t open properly. It was so muggy in there while showering and unpleasant when using the restroom there needs to be some kind of convenient airflow because the AC doesn’t suffice. Other than that it was very average. Nothing too special, but it got the job done.

We came to NYC for a 3 day visit to see Little Shop of Horrors and Moulin Rouge. Discovered the hotel on Expedia. Very pleased with the whole experience at Paramount. We checked our bags at the hotel when we got in in the morning and went about our day and night and checked in and picked up our bags around 10:30. They are doing some construction on the lower level and scaffolding outside. The attached cafe is cute! Check-in and check-out were smooth, but be warned - you are billed for your stay at check-in. They wasted no time - the charge was in my cc acct the next morning. It was a very quiet hotel. No partiers! Beds and pillows were a bit soft. We were in room 1032, two double beds. Small, but suited our purposes. Never turned on the TV. Bathroom is very small, no fan. No fridge, clock or microwave, but there was a hairdryer and steamer for clothes in the closet with about 19 hangers. Small desk with chair. Fairly good view of the area . The hotel is very close to Times Square and is next to the Scientology building. There is a nicely priced coffee and pastry shop right at the corner. We walked to CBS Studios, NBC Studios/Rockefeller Center/30 Rock, Westside Theater and Al Hirschfeld Theater with ease. They have a service that got us to and from LaGuardia - there is a link on the hotel site. You have to have your room key to go up the elevator. There is no mini store in the hotel, so bring snacks and beverages in. Lobby is modern. Second level had privacy seating that had

You can tell they slap paint to cover the age of the building, Windows are extremely old and loose. Throughout the night I would hear all the trucks, garbage truck & police. There was work being done in the lobby, not much lightning & while I was taking a shower the light turned off, I did not bother calling front desk b/c it was 11pm , We use the hallway lighting . Next day i checked out . Definitely needs updating, especially the windows. Location was awesome!! Pizza and coffee shops next door .. everything was very close by

Best thing about this hotel is location. Guest services are minimal. No water except on 4th floor , ice machine out of order, no help with luggage coming or going. No answer to guest services phone call. Concierge service/rep was great and helpful!
