We were there on a Sunday night, but it was still quieter than I had expected. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Nearby parking is also a major plus."

All we could want in a hotel and more
"We so enjoyed our stay at the Brakeman. The historical building was interesting and charming and we appreciated the attractive original building structural material incorporated in the decor: rough hewn timber columns and wooden railroad flooring in hallways. A railroad “museum” occupied the main floor. The rooms were so spacious, with elegant but comfortable decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful; 2 blocks from the heart of the French Quarter; very convenient and reasonable parking. All at a very reasonable price. "
