JP in Mussourie is a bit underrated!
Service was absolutely fantastic. But it’s partly because they have cheap “interns” doing the rounds. The room was very comfortable, but 1. The entrance light was not working, 2 the shower door gasket is very old and shrivelled, so the water leaks out. The restaurant food is good to very good, but prices are way out of line. Same with liquor. The morning breakfast buffet is “free” and there is good variety and choices. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate special requests. The cultural events and high tea in the afternoon is great. But as it gets chilly in the later afternoon, the bonfires are inviting. But, as I discovered, also very expensive! It might be good for the hotel to light at least one big fire for all guests to enjoy. All in all, a very good experience, but the property could use a bit of TLC. Nevertheless, if you ignore the small “issues”, and focus on the beautiful nature surrounding this property, you will have a great time.

I visited with my family with 2 kids and we thoroughly enjoyed the property. Though property is not on mall road, it is self contained - be it valley views or Mussorie view or lot of games for your family and kids to enjoy or the heated pool. Highly recommended.

The rooms given were not in the main building but far away. Had to go there for every meal. Highly inconvenient. Definitely not expected from a hotel like JP.

Nice property with beautiful views. The staff was weird. I go to them asking for them to arrange a taxi so I can go around the city. They were giving me the phone number and told me to call myself. I'm from overseas and not familiar with this country or city, if your guest asks for you to get them a cab, you get them a cab!

I went here with my family and had a great time. The view from the terrace is mesmerising. On the terrace you have basketball and badminton plus some fun swings for kids. We also had a great time playing other games like pool, table tennis and snakes and ladders. The morning buffets were amazing and so were the other meals. Don’t forget to visit manor caffe in the valley view tower. It has some amazing views.

The property infrastructure is good. But scores poorly in terms of service. The overall tone and tenor of the staff is not upto 5 star standards. It took 7-8 calls for housekeeping to bring a single blanket at night. When asked for extra water they gave water RO water in dirty bottles. The amount of money they charge for a one night stay is not worth it at all. Spend an extra few bucks and stay at JW Mariott instead!

What An Utter Disappointment
We had one night in Mussoorie and I wanted it to be special. We had a choice between the JW Marriott and Jaypee and I am so sad that I made the wrong choice. Jaypee is described as a five star hotel but I have no idea who would ever rate it as anything more than a three star hotel at best. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, it was a terrible experience with so many problems it is difficult to list in such a small review. The place is terribly worn out and grubby, the rooms need renovating desperately and I was at the point of not wanting to sleep in the bed because it was all so grim. A depressing hotel which prides itself on the amazing views but anyone who has been to Mussoorie before will know that any hotel regardless of their star rating has amazing views. I would recommend that anyone looking into a trip to this beautiful part of the world avoids this hotel like the plague. An expensive and awful experience, it almost felt like I was a victim of racism as the only white person in the hotel.

Happy with the room but not sure got the best deal
While the front desk manager was cordial and told me that my room was upgraded, I was not sure whether this was really true. My room was almost at the end of a long winding corridor, its windows opened to a view of oncoming pathway (hence noisy vehicles jumping over the road hump, all round the day), view was obstructed by the compound wall, and had no balcony of its own. The type of room being reserved should be shown to the client and also fixed. Even upgrading should be done with the consent of the client after the two options are shown to the client for comparison. One should not get a feeling that because we went through Hotels.com booking site, we were palmed off some room which is in least demand.

Though property location is nice but then services are poor. No shuttle as promised by hotel and they leave you on your own to arrange drop and pick to The Mall Road. My next door neighbors keep partying and spoiling the whole garden in front of my room ... took all the chairs provide in front of room and nowhere to sit as the chairs was not returned and if next morning when wanted to sit outside to enjoy morning coffee .... notice the chairs returned in morning with food stains all over and you cannot sit. Not worth spending $700 for two nights ... only stay in this property if you have your own car

I wanted to settle my account by a Visa card. The manager in charge quoted me a different amount I agreed while biking with Expedia. When I asked him about this he took a bit of offence saying ,"I know the price of the rooms, and I am not going to refer to Expedia on what I agreed to pay". I repeatedly told him I booked through Expedia, but he was not agreeing. Then he called someone and told me that I could pay a different amount, which was still not the price I agreed to in Expedia. I basically stopped there and told him that I'll take care of this in the following morning. The person in the morning was a pleasant chap and to my pleasant surprise did quote me the exact amount I agreed to in Expedia. Howeaver, none of their machines could process the three Visa cards I had. I just walked half a mile to get the cash out from a bank ATM using one of those cards and settled the bill. I did not have complementary internet which is a shame for any 5star hotel. I had read another review before about this, but did not believe it. Now I do.

Beautiful hill resort
Far away from the maddening Mussorie crowd, amidst pristine hills and forests. The staff are super friendly. Food is delicious, although vegetarian options at the restaurants are a little limited. Kids will love the heated pool. Some renovation at the main entrance produced a slight inconvenience but nothing major. Heartily recommended

Good Location and hotel, average hospitality.
I have lived in 5 Star properties all over the world and enjoyed xcellent hospitality and I believe the one provided by our Indian hotels is topnotch. I chose to visit mussoorie for anniversary celebrations. The Hotel is in a Good location away from city crowds and hustle bustle. Perfect for couple getaway. I would rate the hotel 4/5 but for the attitude of the hotel managerial staff who were very rigid and inflexible and had to be pleaded with to even provide an anniversary cake of our choice. A bottle of wine or Champagne is way out of the question. Their attitude left a bitter taste in the mouth. The rest of the staff, i.e. Room Service,housekeeping etc were up to the mark. The food is average and little overpriced. Stick to the indian side of the menu as the chefs are not really good at the other cuisines. Overall I would rate the hotel 3/5, excellent peaceful hotel with great views and amenities (which I hope they do not charge for from their guests in the future) but lot of room for improvement in hospitality.
