"This was a great place to stay. It was a bit far away from the city center. The room was very nice,, and we would stay here again but definitely better for stays related to events at the site or playing golf than a pass through see Kendal location "
"I booked my stay at this hotel through Expedia. When I checked in I was told that I hadn’t prepaid through Expedia. Because I was tired after a long day, I paid as requested by the hotel . Through Expedia I requested this double payment to be returned. Over a week later I’m still waiting."

Stonecross Manor Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Stonecross is a lovely old manor house that has been well restored. Quite often these old buildings fall into disrepair because of cost, but my wife and I felt it was really well presented. Stonecross is located close to the M6 but a short drive from The Yorkshire Dales or Lakes. The lobby is spacious and classy feeling with the tickle of piano music in the background. There is parking for around 10 cars with EV charging for three or four. The charging is provided externally by enozzle. 32 rooms are available but the place was quiet. The standard room was bright clean and comfortable with bath and shower. The food is excellent. There is a small but well designed menu for evening meal and drinks are not overpriced. Two alcoholic drinks cost is £12. We had a lovely stay for our anniversary and i would strongly recommend."
The Lakeland Kendal Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by BW
10/10 Excellent
"Absolute bargain for what we paid. The triple room had 3 single beds and was spacious and clean. Great walk in shower in bathroom. In Kendal centre. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay again. "
"Glynis is a really friendly and amenable host. She couldn’t do enough to help and made the stay comfortable and trouble free.
Would definitely stay again."
"We had our wedding reception at The Eagle & child 17 years ago. We stayed for one night yesterday as a trip down memory lane. The fire was roaring when we went into the pub which was a gorgeous welcome on a grey and rainy day. It feels like a proper pub- friendly staff and locals. Love the quirky decor with all sorts of random objects that have been collected. The lighting make it feel cosy. We sat all afternoon chatting and drinking. We went up to our room which was spotless and tastefully decorated. All we needed for a nights stay.
We then ate in the pub - fantastic gourmet burger!! and stayed for the weekly Thursday club which was good fun.
An excellent stay, perfect pub and highly recommend the accommodation. Thank you "
Castle Green Hotel In Kendal, BW Premier Collection
10/10 Excellent
"We are returning to this stunning hotel for the 3rd time and love it here. Great service from staff they were able to give us a double room after we booked twin room available via hotels.com which was great.
The food is amazing, fish and chips is a definite go to, and 2nd night we had a 3 course meal closer to fine dining with famtastic quality.
Spa services were great we used both pool and steam room which work perfectly to feel fully relaxed. I have used the gym facilities in the past and they are more than enough to have a good workout.
Overall, we will definitely be back again. I strongly recommend this hotel for 2 or 3 nights. Make sure you use the full range of the facilities provided."
"Overall very good experience - the hotel, the rooms, cleanliness, staff, value for money, check in, check out, standard of rooms and facilities - All excellent. Except that there is cow dung smell when you open windows because of the farms and animals in the nearby houses, sheds etc. I understand its not related to hotel, but just rural locality. So i would still rate the hotel and stay as excellent."
