"Disclaimer - I usually stay at boutique hotels and was coming from one when I arrived in Bologna. Upon arrival I was very nervous. The hotel is very historic so the lobby looks old. The room (I was in a “suite”) while was large and well equipped, was also very historic. With that though, I actually liked the hotel. There are no luxury amenities, but there’s not supposed to be. The staff was friendly, hotel was clean and very well situated. There’s a bar next door so bring ear plugs (common in Italy). The breakfast was excellent! For the price point this hotel was very good and I’d stay here again."

"The room was clean, but noisy. The toilet didn't flush well, I had to press the button for 30 times to do a flush. I like to thank the front desk staffs who helped me to check in and check out, they were all polite and friendly. The room attendants were nice too. I appreciated that very much. The terrible experience was from the restaurant. On April 18 local time. When I walked in no one greeted me nor asked if I wanted any coffee. I observed when other guests came in, the staff greeted them and asked what kind of coffee they wanted. The local tour guides taught us to do things slowly so I was trying to do that, the breakfast was ok, I ate slowly and then tried to plan for my itinerary, I believed for a total of 1.5 hours or so, when I went for my last cup of tea and back to the table, they already cleaned the table, one of the staff, an older gentleman with grey hair and black frame eye glasses suddenly yelled and lashed out at me, "You are here for two hours, two hours" then he continued saying things in Italian and walked behind me to somewhere....he was probably scolding me in Italian. His coworker and even some guests could hear it, his rude behavior was totally unacceptable, the worst that I have ever encountered, what have I done to deserve that? If you are working in service sector, there is no room for prejudice, discrimination, nor rude manner toward any customers. Of course I did not go back to that restaurant anymore!! "

"Splendid lobby; excellent bar; good restaurant; great location; quiet. But some staff had an attitude interacting with guests and there were numerous problems with the room, particularly the bathroom: shower door didn’t close, soaking the entire bathroom floor; no shelf in the shower requiring keeping toiletries on the floor. Sink would not drain and had to be serviced. Keys to the room didn’t work and had to be replaced. One of the receptionists presented a card (for a key) without programming it."

"The rooms are well thought out, the staff are lovely and will do anything to help and the breakfast was delightful. The hotel is also well situated just off the main central square but in a quiet location. Would definitely stay here again"

"I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean and well-maintained, which made for a comfortable experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with anything I needed. There was plenty of free parking available, which was very convenient. I also really enjoyed the breakfast, it was fresh, tasty, and a great way to start the day. Just during the pick time, breakfast area needed more staff. Overall, a pleasant and hassle free stay."
