"Wasn’t the best "

"Solo traveller on business with this being the 4th different hotel in a week. Nice warm welcome and friendly staff. Had an executive double which was spacious and the bed was very comfy. It’s an old hotel with wood panelling in the bar and restaurant which tells you the type of character property this is. Stayed on a £40 half board rate which gave me £25 food & drink allowance for dinner… this is a bit rubbish as the cheapest main was £19 and a pint was £6 so that was the allocation gone. They obviously make money on the starters and dessert's but this is wrong in my opinion, I understand there are supplements with most of these deals but at least give a guests a choice of 2 or 3 courses so they at least have a feeling of value. I had fish and chips and it was Ok, not brilliant which makes me feel like I’ve been taken advantage of. Would I stay here again, probably not but for a business stopover close to my first meeting, it was fine."

"Rooms are dated which is ok, but the heating stuck on full is not ok. Broken TVs, no security on the patio doors, very noisy, slamming fire doors, lack of staff in the evenings "

"Surprisingly good especially considering it’s pub hotel. Very comfy rooms. Modern and cozy. Complimentary water in glass refrigerated. Staff couldn’t do more to make you feel welcome. Food at the pub equally as good and service to match. I’ve already stayed couple times and will stay again. "

"Receptionist was ok but we were booked into a room that was having maintenance done so had to comeback downstairs. We were promised a restaurant voucher for compensation but received nothing. Swimming pool and spa pool were booked out and no free parking as stated on the facts on the tv. "
