"Ground floor room, window wouldnt close. No-one at the hotel able to help or fix it, was told it would be passed onto management to speak about the following morning but this didn't happen. Was very much large enough for someone to get through and there was no solution. Room was not clean enough at all either. Dust everywhere, actually looked like room hadnt been occupied for some time. TV/mirror smears to the point of being hard to use."

"Everything was brilliant apart from 2 things. Unfortunately those things mean we don’t get a proper nights sleep. 1: the shower suddenly started to drip in the middle of the night, not once but twice. Both times lasting around 5 mins. The second time I would not stop and I had to turn the shower on for a few seconds and off again to make it stop. 2. There was a flash and small blip from the fire alarm. Again, this happened more than once through the night. Everything else was good (save a slow check in but they were busy) and if not for these issues it would be 5 stars. However, such a disturbed sleep made the stay somewhere I am dubious to return to. "

"A mixed bag: positives: house was clean and the key lock and parking was convenient, and food and drink supplies very welcome. Negatives: our booking was changed fairly last minute from “the terrace” to a different house “the Mews” for unknown reasons. (So my review is not for this listing, but for “The Mews”.) Although the house was on the same estate and also had 3 double bedrooms, one of the bedrooms was pretty small, and the original property had the master bedroom on its own top floor , which would have been preferable for us due to our particular family arrangements. Unfortunately the boiler was faulty so there was no hot water for showers in the morning. Although the agent responded promptly to my message and came round to try to address it and offered to extend our stay so it could be fixed and we have hot showers, we were time bound to catch trains so unfortunately it wasn’t a viable option for us."
