"Decent place to stay, bed is comfortable and the rooms are small. Hot shower and western toilet in the room. The price includes breakfast which was very simple but good.
It’s about 10 minutes drive from central Sembalun so keep that in mind as there are not many places to eat nearby.
Overall if you’re looking for a place to stay and rest up for a cheap price I could recommend."

Il était annoncé : mise à disposition de brosses à dents : absentes bien sûr. Il n’y a même pas de lavabo !
Les serviettes de toilettes sont douces mais ne sèchent pas
Un seul drap housse sur le lit : pas de drap de dessus, juste une couverture qui bien sûr n’est probablement pas nettoyée après chaque client.
Le petit déjeuner n’a rien d’un buffet comme annoncé

"This was the last stop on the inaugural All Blue Swim Tour, and it couldn't have gone better. Everyone was blown away by the spacious, comfortable rooms, the incredible attention to detail, the grounds and the friendliness of the staff. There is safe swimming with beautiful coral off the sandy beach and places to do yoga if you wish. We could not have had a better time and the BBQ on the beach was a special moment. THANK YOU!!!! We will be back next year."
"This was by far the worst hotel I stayed in the 30 years. I stayed in a lot of budget hotels. Did not care much about the amenities but the cleanless of the hotel. This hotel was not a budget hotel, the price of the room was totally out of scale with the facilities. I am sure some 20 years ago this was a nice place, but in the last 20 years they have not done anything to the hotel. It is run down. The coffee shop/kitchen that serves the hotel and next to hotel is a health hazard. I tried not to eat anything at the hotel, and having seen where the staff stored ice cubes and how they handle them, I would not dare to drink anything iced. The staff was nice and this is not a surprise, everyone we encountered at the island was extremly polite and helpful. I would give staff 5 stars if the hotel was not in the condition it was. When we checked in, the sink was clogged for example.
Outside the hotel : The hotel is in the nicest place for snorkeling. Right before the hotel is the best snorkeling location. I will give the location 5 stars.
I will also file a complain with expedia for misrepresenting the place.
I never write a review but this hotel was misrepresented on expedia and definitely a health hazard. The room we stayed was classified as a suite and the price was that of a suite room.

"Our family really enjoyed our stay at Scallywags in two adjoining garden villa rooms. Although the hotel is close to the busy part of the island we didn't hear a thing from the rooms. The food at the restaurant was great, as was the service from the staff. Was very easy to lie on the beach out the front of the hotel and to swim with the turtles as they floated past. Highly recommended. "
"A lovely stay for our honeymoon to relax after a very busy trip in Ubud! The food was incredible with very talented chefs at this resort, the almond croissant was just delicious! We loved using the sunbeds, eating and turtle watching. A small point was that the beach towels were not always clean, otherwise a perfect stay. Would definitely recommend staying here for those considering a honeymoon in Bali"
