"I had a wonderful stay at Park Hyatt Zanzibar overall — the service, rooms, location in Stone Town, and breakfast were all excellent and met the Park Hyatt standard. However, the beach/oceanfront experience was very disappointing. I specifically paid extra for an oceanfront room, expecting serene views, but instead the shoreline is dominated by ugly docked boats and ferry traffic, which completely takes away from the view and atmosphere. The beach area itself offers little to nothing in terms of relaxation or beauty. It’s a great hotel, but if you’re booking for an oceanfront or beach experience, manage your expectations — it’s not what the upgrade suggests."

"I absolutely loved this hotel. The location was perfect, it was in the heart of stone town. Felt very safe, also felt like you were living like a local. The room was very spacious. The food was great. Breakfast had many options & the food from the restaurant was a 10/10. There’s also many things to do in the area such as shop, museums or even restaurants. "

"I would not recommend this at all. The clerk asked us to pay city tax up front and in cash, plus more than the amount invoiced by Expedia and government regulated amount. Room was filthy and dysfunctional. Had to be moved, but that wasn’t really that great. There did not seem to be guests other than us. The pool seemed to be filled by the children of one of the employees. Although the description says bar and breakfast, there is no bar or alcohol served. The staff offered to go and buy some for us but we had to pay them in cash. The food we ordered, took 2 and a half hours, it was good but absolutely ridiculous. As far as breakfast, nothing just a large pot of coffee. Everything about this place seems like it a front for something or just part of the Truman show. May have been something at one time, but that time has gone. Avoid it, like they avoid cleaning and providing the service they advertise. "

"Please make sure you read fine prints with lodge. I was told one thing from staff about airport transportation then another via fine prints. Luckily I had a hired driver to accommodate to follow through with consistent services provided "
