The room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. The property was very nice.
The cons:
When we reserved and paid for our stay, the listing included breakfast and also a welcome drink upon arrival. We were not provided the welcome drink on arrival. The next day we asked about the welcome drinks and we were delighted when the owner brought out two drinks to us at the pool.
However when checking out, the owner proceeded to charge us for the welcome drinks. When we showed him the prepaid receipt that stated the stay included welcome drinks upon arrival, he said that they don’t offer drinks and that Expedia made a mistake (However Expedia doesn’t create partner listings, property owners have to make and edit their own listings).
Then he said he would be charging us tax, and that he doesn’t take credit cards, but when we checked in he took our credit card to cover incidentals and fees. Next he claimed that taxes would be $1.50euro a day. After some back and forth, he actually could take a credit card and then proceeded to send us a payment link to pay for charges, which ended up being $10euros. That did not make sense considering we stayed there for just two days. Seems like he captured the costs of the drinks anyhow. We were not going to argue the issue further. We lost trust at that point. Just a word of caution to keep an eye out for.
