We spent 4 nights in this lovely B&B in late May/Early June on the outskirts of Galena after 5 night in Chicago. It's a increasingly pleasant 3 hour drive West of Chicago on the Iowa/Wisconsin/Illinois borders, very near the Mississippi.
Galena being a lovely relaxing contrast to the city, but with plenty to occupy your time for a short stay. Good base to explore the surrounding countryside in whatever way you prefer - car, cycling, canoeing, walking etc.. several historic buildings to explore...

Great hotel, very close to Galena and Ulysses S Grant's former home. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were spacious and clean. Got a good night's rest. Very quiet.
