"Gray Wolf is under construction. We were told the room we reserved was not available. The front desk staff tried to accommodate but were limited. Also- no breakfast as advertised when reservation made."
Old Faithful Snow Lodge & Cabins - Inside the Park
4/10 Poor
"Following a 1:00am-6:30 am blackout on the coldest night (temps in teens) of our stay I presented to the hotel mgr that the price of this hotel was that of a 4 star hotel when it is a 2 star hotel. He agreed straight across the board. The aforementioned blackout meant no heat! Combined with no cell phone service (Verizon or T-Mobile), no telephone in room and that means you can’t even find out what’s going on. Why won’t the Yellowstone high priced properties catch up with the times and figure out a way to get EVERYONE cell phone service? And no TVs? Can adults not determine whether or not they can watch TV after a long, marvelous day exploring the world’s greatest national park?! This is a free country but Ystone hotels don’t want you to have freedom. The park punishes hotel stayers outside the park by creating long lines to get in. 2 stars for this hotel is generous. Our upgraded cabin had a gross, dingy bathroom, average bedding and the least attractive room you could put together. The restaurants are an incredible ripoff for awful food. Bring your own food! We did for the most part."
"The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were pillow tops and were comfortable.
The breakfast was standard fare, with waffles, yogurt, Danish, cereal, etc.
We had some trepidation when we first walked into the lobby. It looked a bit cheesy, but the room was very nice.
Parking was convenient, but there were a number of stairs required in order to get to the first floor. We carry a lot of heavy gear and it made it more difficult since we couldn't roll everything right into the room without lugging it up some stairs first."
"The hotel is going through some staff issues and the new housekeeping company is useless. Rooms were not well kept, dirty towels were given to me when I asked for new ones. Bedsheets smelled and had stains. Floors were dirty. Horrible. A shame because I stayed here a couple years ago and it was wonderful. Definitely won’t be back. I do have to say. Sonya is the manager and she was really, really trying to keep the guests happy, as I wasn’t the only one with issues. Poor gal had seen better days. I really hope they can get everything figured out."
"Overall there is no issue with our stay. Service is generally good. Room availability is poor and price is high which is understandable for being inside of a national park."
