"Terrible coffee"

"We had a great stay at Kompose Boutique Hotel in Sarasota. Everything was clean, modern and very well organized. The staff was friendly and helpful during our entire stay. The breakfast was very good and nicely prepared every morning. It was a great way to start the day before going out. The location is also very convenient – it’s a short drive to the beaches and many restaurants nearby. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely come back again. "We stayed one evening while we were down in Sarasota for a Spring Training game. Due to the beach and ballgame season, prices at all hotels were up. So to find one at $200 per night was the cheapest that looked decent from photos. Upon arrival, the evening clerk (Darryl), greeted us and was not particularly friendly. Upon going through the registration process, he took our IDs. Instead of verifying that they matched the Reservation, he took them and began to take scans of them. "A/C was working. The beds were good. But 2 stars means 2 stars. The bathroom was so-so eqipped, but everything was working ok. The breakfast is non-existent comparing to all decent hotel. Keep in mind that the room is equipped with a large fridge for prolonged stay along with a an electrical stove. The builders and remote workers who have long projects stay there and load the fridge with shopping. Walmart is a next door."

"Never used the pool. But we enjoyed both the simplicity and the 50s kitchy-ness. Would have liked to have had more towels. Lobby staff was great and the room cleaning staff were both effective and efficient."
