"I had never stayed at a Sparks Hilton before. With the name of Hilton, I would have thought the property would have been in much better condition. The property is old, needs remodeling…. I can’t recommend this hotel. "

"The property is centrally located for a visit to Sarasota. We had the junior suite which was spacious and comfortable. The pool and fitness center are very nice. The facility is definitely outdated and nothing “special”, although they try to dress it up with colorful decor. The maid service was subpar, they never came on day one and didn’t come until late afternoon day 2. Neither day did we receive new towels. Remaining staff were all very friendly. It wasn’t a bad stay, but we will likely try a different hotel next time simply because we know there are better in the area. "

"Beginning the day before we arrived, the staff was so attentive. They accommodated my last minute request for a dinner reservation, and the location for our room. We stayed on the upper level of the Tiki Tower. Room was spacious. Housekeeping great. We would have loved a balcony, but we booked late and only Tiki Tower rooms were available. The motel style entrance was different from what we’re used to, but it worked out fine. Easy access to pool, lobby, Tiki Bar, and beach. Pool area had plenty of chairs, and excellent food/beverage service. Lots of umbrellas for shade too. Music was even great! Beach was lovely, but there was a large pipe running the length of the beach. So you can’t see the water from the beach chairs. You can still walk over the pipe to the shoreline. Beautiful sunset views and dolphins too. We ate at Tiki Bar and Drift - both excellent. The live music at the beach near Tiki Bar was fun too. The shuttle to and from St Armand’s was also super convenient. "

"What a wonderful little hotel !!! The Tiki Bar was a delight. Brian and Tyler we’re fantastic bartenders. The room itself was very cute. Mid-century modern and everything was brand new. It’s the bed was wonderfully comfortable and it was very spacious. We would definitely return."

"First of all, we were given our room key- when we got to the room we opened the door, and the bed was all unmade and messed up. Then we looked around and someone's stuff was everywhere. This was about 10:00pm. Luckily no one was in the room, but we could have easily walked off with all of their valuables. She had told us the wrong room and given us the key for that room. When we finally got to the correct room, it was disgusting. I am not picky. As long as a room is clean, I don't mind it being old. This was both. I had also booked a room with 2 double beds. This had one double bed, it said it was a queen, but there is no way. I have only left a hotel once about 30 years ago due to it being dirty etc. We could not stay here. First of all there were two of us sharing a room and it only had one double bed. It also was old and dirty. The photos are NOTHING like the hotel looks. Even if it was clean I old put up with the rust on all of the towel bars etc, the old old furniture, the gross ceiling and dirty walls, but it was dirty. This in addition to not feeling safe as we were worried that someone else might get our key. The girl at the desk was nice, but this is not somewhere I would ever stay and if I couled give it even less stars, i would."

"Long line at check-in. Rooms were not ready. With corporate events, wedding(s), and other social events, staff was overwhelmed; delays in valet car service. As regular guests, we felt like we were in the way. Rufa's was closed Saturday night with no notice. Other guests were loud (children yelling well after midnight). Game room needs update. "
