This hotel was a gem. We loved our time there, and we strongly recommend it. Don't miss the Bandida Tapas & Cocktail bar around the corner!

The hotel is very well located in terms of proximity to the Puerta del Sol Metro, and very walkable to the royal palace in one direction and the Prado in the other. However, the hotel is in a largely pedestrian zone, so taxis taking me to the hotel did not stop in right in front of it. I had to find my own way with baggage. The room was basic and has not been updated in a while. There was no plugs near the bed to charge my devices. The area is very noisy long into night, with young people whooping it up. The staff was very helpful. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I would not stay here again.

The hotel itself was nothing special, though our shower head appeared to be broken and wouldn’t hold position. Room would be good for single travelers planning to spend little to no time in their room. As I was traveling with my husband we would probably opt for something a bit more spacious next time. We booked a double room and ended up in a small room with three single beds, two pushed together. The breakfast was buffet style continental breakfast. Again nothing special. Staff was friendly, but did not offer up any additional or helpful information beyond what was required for checking us in and out. Overall it was a great central location for exploring Madrid, but probably wouldn’t stay again.

We stayed two nights and was assigned to 1st floor room by a terrible lady at front desk who lied to us when I asked if there is a higher floor room available since I preferred higher floor room. she said no. we could not sleep during the Friday night since the street cafe and restaurants were so noisy and laud and all kinds of music and signing. I rushed to front desk to ask for help at 1:30am, luckily this time the gentlemet at front desk helped me and found a 3rd floor room and we moved right there at 1:30am!!! We could still hear the noise but much better than the 1st floor room. The place is generally in city center and very loud noises and no noise control at all during the night, the noise could last until 6am in the morning. My take away is if you want to stay at this hotel, get a room not facing the street. But I will NOT stay there anymore
