Unfortunately the only plus to this stay was the view from the balcony! The room had not been cleaned the windows were duck taped the doors had no locks on them and cracks allowing the cold and bugs to get into at night. Upon checking in the receptionist was on her phone and never ended the call to take my information instead took it while the person on her call could hear. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Unfortunately I will not be back.

Cool place to stay for short term. Having a private balcony view was the highlight. The room was great but a major complaint was the amount of spiders, inside and outside the room. If they took care to clean up the cobwebs and bugs, this place would be perfect!

Unfortunately paid over $500 for 2 nights on Expedia and paid for protection package. Arrived to the Motel and checked in and after receiving our door keys we made it to our “luxury economy room” we were greeted with feces in the toilet, spiders and cobwebs in corners of rooms, mysterious orange stain on sheets and the carpets were obviously not even vacuumed due to grass and dirt/sand all over carpets, my partner and I very disappointed and dissatisfied went to the office asking for refund but because nights were ordered on third party (Expedia) they could not refund. I called Expedia and was told because I had checked in to the hotel they cannot refund me my money, I called the protection plan agency and after 2 weeks of emailing and phone calling I have received only $200 of compensation. Mind you we did not stay at this motel we decided to stay else where and lose our money. Overall tried to make the best of the trip and had a great time but would not recommend anything to do with sunrise beach motel.

If your looking for a clean comfortable place to stay this is NOT it. First we walk into our balcony door being broken handle snapped off and no way to fully close or lock it, then we try to go relax in the hot tub to find its DISGUSTING and not taken care of it looks like it hasn’t had maintenance since the beginning of summer it literally looked like still water said by not only us but other neighbors that’s where also staying there, so we go back to take a shower go to turn it on and black and brown water poured out for about 15 seconds the bathroom tub was dirty and it was just nothing but a awful experience DON’TWASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!

The location is great - right on Lake Huron 2 minutes from downtown and the bridge The curb appeal needs help - they allow dogs and that’s a priority for us pet parents Overall the staff was nice and helpful when needed

Paid way too much under the sink in the bathroom you open the door that had a screw in it to keep it shut. The floor in the cabinet was caved in, and there was mold in there. Room was very small.

The location was good and it’s right on the water. However, the floor in the rooms were dirty. Our sliding door was broken it didn’t lock. The air filter for the air conditioner was so dirty and full of dust! The bathtub was dirty. Would not stay here again.

The location was great. We watched the sunrise and fireworks from Mackinaw and St. Ignace all from the balcony of our room. We were also able to watch the ferries, freighters, and even a cruise ship pass through. It was definitely a good spot to relax, enjoy the view, while still being close to town and activities. We will definitely stay there again. The only thing I would improve on would be that the room should have a broom and dustpan available. As careful we were about tracking sand in from the beach, it still got there. 😁

The best thing is the view, otherwise, a sink hole in the parking lot over a month, still not repaired. spiders on the ceiling. refrigerator rusty and full of frost, door didn't close correctly, door to room was loose, sliding door super hard to move, tv remote control working intermittent, no ice bucket, no table. Pool sucks no Hot tub. Charge me 60 dollars for my dogs,it says it is free, paid Way too much for the 69.dollar price on the sign, over 120. never again

They didn't tell us that you have to request housekeeping daily when you check in, so we didn't get clean towels as we needed them, when I did request housekeeping the night person didn't put the order in. otherwise everything was alright.

The room was not swept before we arrived. a couple of light bulbs were out, the tub was weird to turn into a shower, nooks and crannies need to be leaned especially upper corners. cleaning staff might not be the best but front desk 5/5. very helpful and super friendly. outdoor amenities such as swings and picnic table need work. the beach area with the fires are nice though. overall I would stay here again, but bring some of my own cleaning supplies just in case..

Our room was dirty the dresser drawers were filled with empty beer cans the shower curtain was covered in nasty stains all over it the balcony door could hardly be opened the beds sounded and felt like they were sitting on springs and whatever you do don’t leave anything behind because it immediately becomes theirs.

Overpriced for condition of the room. Curb appeal is horrible wet paint signs but must be old cause does not look like had been painted recently. Check in at 4 key given to us went to room still not clean told to come back later 45min before got in Other rooms we had were not ready either even longer for them Smoke detector hanging from ceiling, one outlet by 1 bed dirty window in bathroom and tub not clean. Alarm clock but no outlet to plug it into also ceiling lights did not work. furniture was in bad shape and very uncomfortable beds Pool dirty I should be refunded I paid way more than others staying there Look at goggle review before booking
