"Even though the hotel was kind of outdated ( most hotels in Mackinaw City are) the room was clean and served all of our needs. We had a first floor room with a lake view and just steps out to the beach. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were courteous and friendly. "We were allowed to check in 1.5 hours early; which was above/beyond expectations. Room was very large, roomy w/ nice view of lake, beach and bridge from the balcony. Room smelled clean until we turned up heat, probably for 1st time, was fine afterwards. Heater and room was very quiet. My wife found a dirty wall and dresser top where she needed to place some of her night things. When she wiped the surfaces the washcloth was very dirty. Carpet had a big stain between the beds. Office Manager and Staff were very quick and prompt to come in and clean again before we accepted the room. Pool and hot tub were large, clean and good temps. Breakfast was actually above average with nearly everything you'd expect from a continental breakfast plus hot eggs and slices of ham. Large seating area as well. We'd stay again"

Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. I would definitely recommend staying on the upper floor because otherwise you hear everything above you.
