Location was perfect, closer to the “old town” Funchal than most of the hotels, about a 20 min walk to the center, but great area near a lot. Overall I felt very safe, only thing to note is that there is no one at the front desk between midnight and 7am, but you will need your key card to get into the building...

"I loved the hammock on our porch! The rose garden was beautiful. Our porch had a view of the sea and the mountains. It was nice to have a separate sitting area and the weather was beautiful to enjoy sitting out on the porch."
