"This house was so comfortable and with the most beautiful outlook. Everything was just perfect for our stay. Fresh eggs, milk, bread and jam were provided as well as coffee and assortment of tea. The location is close to wineries as well as a short distance to Hahndorf, Stirling and Mt Lofty. Can't wait to stay again!"

"We had a lovely stay at Athelney Cottage. We enjoyed the quiet street and being so close to the botanic gardens. Rosie was an excellent host - very warm and welcoming. Our dogs were welcome too! Comfortable bed, large overstuffed sofas and air conditioning made our holiday very enjoyable.

"What an awesome location, surrounded by bushland with a variety of wildlife. The facilities were of a great standard and an ideal place to relax and rejuvenate. There was some great local produce along with some magnificent home made bread supplied for us on our arrival. Our hosts Brian and Helen were fantastic, definitely a pleasure to meet them. The picturesque township of Stirling was a stones throw away with excellent food and coffee if you chose. I would certainly recommend The Retreat for...

The music finished at 11pm on the Friday and Saturday. On the other days there was no loud music. Communal kitchen leading to balcony with table and chairs. Communal bathroom was clean with large showers.

An absolute amazing place, so so cheap for the quality you get. One of the most comfortable hotels I've stayed in. A place like this in the UK would run you a fortune but it was so cheap here. I absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend.

Wasn’t sure what to expect when we turned up. Have to say it was top notch. The beds so comfy, the shower excellent. Staff were all really attentive and the food (we had breakfast and dinner) really fantastic (and multiple options). On top of that the bar, live music, sports bar and location to easily get the bus in to the city were all a wonderful experience
Thank you

Spacious comfortable everything we needed was there. Beautiful view of the lake from our balcony. Clean and quiet. Shops and places to eat nearby and restaurants in the hotel. All good we will be happy to come back.

Worked out perfectly for my visit to my family living close by. The apartment was clean, good facilities and I loved it! Will definitely stay again on my next visit although I need to save up first!

After a ten day road trip in the Outback I wanted a decent room with a bath to relax before heading back to Melbourne and the Majestic was perfect. Good, central location and a very comfortable room with everything I needed. Although I was up fairly early next morning, it was good to know that checkout was a city-friendly 11am. The hotel’s name is a bit of a misnomer though - the rooftop is neither majestic nor garden like!
