Tesouro da Baixa is a calm and welcoming haven amidst the hustle and bustle of the vibrant city life. Helpful, friendly staff, a delicious selection of breakfast buffet treats, and a stylish eclectic decor in all areas of the hotel. Our room was spacious, thoughtfully designed and well equipped. A central location to explore Lisbon.

My experience at Tesouro da Baixa by Shiadu in Lisbon was incredibly disappointing. Despite Expedia listing it as a "4 Stars Hotel" with corresponding prices, it turned out to be more of a hostel for backpackers. Unlike other hotels in Lisbon that required to display the star ratings, there was no such sign here. Safety was a concern throughout my stay; there was no lobby or security presence. Instead, there were a shoe store at the entrance, and anyone could enter the building and take the elevator to the rooms. There's no inside lock on the room doors. I had to placing a chair inside the room to block the door. The service was also lacking. Upon check-in, despite two employees being present, one was busy selling tour tickets and the other asked us to wait. After waiting for 15 minutes, we had to ask the employee playing with their phone to check us in. Also, seeing a tip basket at the desk of a supposed 4-star hotel was surprising & unprofessional. During 3-night stay, our room card stopped working every night, need to find an employee to reactivate it. Wasted a lot of our time. The room itself was rundown, with a tiny TV and outdated facilities. The soundproofing was BAD. I woke up every night by hearing people walking on the stairs and talking loudly. I could even hear someone snoring in the room next door, which made it hard to sleep. Advertised in Expedia as a 4-star hotel, misleading potential guests. Felt my money was wasted. I would never recommend to anyone.

Very helpful staff 24/7. Very nice breakfast with a great variety of goods. Fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh baked goods, meat cheeses eggs, and fresh squeezed juices. Our room was spacious and clean. The AC worked. The entrance between the shoe stores was a non issue. For light sleepers it could be noisy. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

Very service oriented and friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Our room was on the top floor (attic with stairs converted to room space) with vaulted ceilings and wood floors with city and water view, large, with a sitting area, modern and clean, large bathroom. The hotel and rooms has a very "hip and retro" vibe to it, old building with antique and modern decorations, very boheme feeling which matches the city of Lisbon. It's not your typical hotel where you would go to stay if it was a business trip. My wife and I liked it but I can understand some people might not since it has a hostel vibe to it with open lobby floor space. The hotel side entrance is shared with the rest of the building. The building is not all one hotel property, floors 2 thru 6 are the hotel which has the advantage of being quiet. To gain access to the building they buz you in (24hrs) or with your room key which takes you to your room floor or if you choose to go to the reception (at floor 2), a lobby, small bar and tables for breakfast, 24 hrs. coffee or tee. This is all one open space floor area (common area which gives the hostel vibe). I could easily stay there again, I liked it.

Pictures are deceiving of reality. It is more like a hostel than a hotel. Expensive for its accommodation. Foul smell of sewage in the toilets. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The first night accommodation was in a bare room and shower door would not close and the supposed living room had one person sofa only. We had to request to be upgraded and we were just lucky to get a better room but the washroom smelled of raw sewage the whole time despite having the fan on 24 hrs. Location was good so was the breakfast. Coffee machine was available all the time which was a plus. Bruna and Clara were wonderful. All the staff were attentive.
