Manuel and Anna are terrific with their jobs. We had a very quiet, comfortable and pleasant stay. They were very helpful regarding our questions and very informative about spots to visit and with regards to transport. Very highly recommended and definitely would love to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at the Republica Bed & Breakfast & Arts. Manuel greeted us and showed us around the facility . We needed some medical supplies and Manuel very kindly went with us to help secure them.The facility is open, clean ,breezy and very comfortable .Breakfast was tasty and Anna is a sweetie. Manuel gave us suggestions on places to eat and offered assistance on places to visit. ( although we had already got our trips set ) The B&B is in a great location with access to all transportation. We found this a great place to explore Lisbon and the surrounding area. We had a great visit.

Manuel and the two lovely ladies who helped us when we were there, we extremely friendly, hospitable and kind. They kept the breakfast out later than needed to allow us to eat; Manuel took time out of his day to share a map, ideas about things to see and suggestions about how to have the best experience in the short 4-days we had. The location was convenient; the room was clean; it allowed us to catch some sleep and recalibrate our time zones so that we could fully enjoy our stay. Huge, heartfelt thanks to Manuel and the staff…!

Super friendly and informative staff, super comfy bed, very nice facilities. The shared bathrooms were neat and clean. We weren’t able to get breakfast, as we had a flight to catch, but the common areas and kitchen/dining areas were really well appointed, comfortable and pleasant!

Amazing one night stay. Love the concept of this property. Lovely, spacious room, everything was super clean. We did have our own bathroom unlike other rooms. The common areas with the kitchen and living room are lovely! Manuel was so easy to talk to and was super welcoming and kind. Thanks so much Manuel!😀The super sweet lady that served our breakfast was amazing to talk to and she offered great advice on her favourite places to see in Portugal! Loved the talk! The breakfast was amazing with yummy fresh croissants. Really enjoyed this stay. Would highly recommend.

The hotel is located on a major street Avenida da Republica. It is one block away from Metro station and bus stop and about 5 minute walk to a train station. Ride from the airport by Metro will take 30-35 minutes and about 20 minutes by taxi or Uber. A large shopping mall (with movie theater) is right across. Not many restaurants around except for fast food and ice cream shop. Nonetheless the ride to Rossi, Restaudores, and Plaça do Comercio takes about 15 minutes and there’s a bus going to Belem (about 35-40 minutes ride). The place is basic, but rooms are quite nice. To enter you use a keypad code. Room service is provided on-demand. There’s a continental breakfast. Wi-Fi can sometimes be spotty. The management is very friendly and helpful. They provide a map of the city and can give instructions and suggestions. So it’s a nice affordable place that allows for easy public transport access.

We absolute adored our stay. Travelling as two young women we were nervous but, we felt so safe and looked after here. The hotel was lovely, very modern, amazing breakfast, and room was super clean. Ruth was amazing, any question or request we had, she was quick to answer. She constantly looked after us and gave us amazing transport and city recommendations. She absolutely made our trip and made us feel so comfortable. I would highly recommend for both families and especially for any one traveling solo (or as young women traveling alone). Very safe area and two mins away from public transport, super accessible!

Excellent communication, helpful friendly staff. Lots of good tips given. Definitely will recommend to all fellow Lisbon travellers. Campo Pequeno Metro stop a yew yards away, bus stops nearby taking you into centre or Belem areas. Definitely get a daily travel ticket! Shower was powerful and perfect after a long day hilly walking. Safe area

Anna was the perfect host! Very approachable and kind. The toilet is always clean, though shared, and the place is a short walk to the Metro Station at Campo Pequeno. Would book here again if I were in Lisbon.

We are a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids, we used a bunk bed configuration which was very good for us. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Easy check-in, good communication. Accommodation was clean and weel kept, books and board games also available . Delicious breakfast, having a full kitchen to use later in the day was a added bonus. Great view from the shared living room, close to Metro and transit, grocery store and pharmacy on main floor of building and elevator accces to apartments. Plenty paid parking available if you use a car. Close to restaurants and walking distance to green park.

We enjoyed our stay at the RepubliciaB&B. Manuel was warm and welcoming when we arrived and gave us tourist recommendations and places to visit. The breakfast every morning was scrumptious and we didn’t mind sharing a bathroom as there were many bathrooms compared to rooms (3 bathrooms to 7 bedrooms I believe) The only thing that could improve is that the hotel could have a larger sign viewable from the street.

The only drawback for me was the decor of my room: sparse, almost monastic. The apartment, though, was really homey and attractive, in a superb neighborhood. All the functional features were great (water pressure in bathroom, entry code system, breakfast).

República Bed & Breakfast & Arts richly deserves all the 5-star ratings it receives on numerous travel sites. I cannot say enough good things about Manuel, Anna and Ruth, who run the place with efficiency, care and - dare I say - love. They each suggested several places for me to visit on this, my first trip to Lisbon. I followed up on each recommendation and was delighted with each. My room was spacious, private and quiet, with my own balcony and a table and chair. The bed was plenty big enough for me (I'm tall.) There are electric blinds on the outside of the window that shut out *all* the morning light and most of the street sounds below. There are 7 rooms here, and 3 shared bathrooms (don't worry - only one person per bathroom at a time.) I had been a bit concerned about the shared bathroom, but it never presented any problem at all. The breakfast is set out in the kitchen each morning: various breads, croissants, sliced ham and cheese, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, tea, coffee, milk, juice and often a variety of fruit. There is a sizable table in the living/dining room plus another smaller table where one can take their breakfast. Or one can go out onto the balcony off the living room or take one's plate back to your own room. It was nice to have the hosts to talk with in the mornings, as well as other guests - but the interactions were never forced. I will definitely be coming back here when I return to Lisbon. I cannot speak more highly of this accomodation. Manuel’s communication was perfect and the staff were more than obliging. The shared spaces were immaculate, the rooms are a great size and the breakfast was great. Location is perfect as the stay is directly opposite the Metro line which made exploring Lisbon incredibly easy.

We had an amazing experience with Republica Bed & Breakfast. We enjoyed everything. Breakfast is wonderful! the space is super clean. Please see more detailed positive feedback below. The staff - Ruth patiently provided us a lot of useful information. She speak fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Love her personality and kindness. The owner and director, Manuel is really kind as well. He spent time sent us message on WhatsApp ahead of time about door code etc. It’s make such an easy way for us check in on the first day. The location - it’s absolutely convince for everyone, especially if you are the fire time travelling to Lisbon. Metro, Bus, Train just around the corner. You can take a train with short walking distance from Bed& Breakfast place directly to Sintra for a day trip. Overall, we had a fantastic and unforgettable stay experience here and Its highly recommend for anyone who wants to go to Lisbon. We will absolutely comeback when we visit Lisbon next time. Had an amazing time staying here while in Lisbon. Ana and Ruth take great care of the property and guests, and gave me some recommendations for how to spend my time visiting Lisbon. I enjoyed speaking with them and will be returning here in the future for sure.
