"This is a great hotel. I’ve stayed here multiple times over the years and always enjoy the stay. The hotel is in a great location-overlooking Lake Superior with lots of parking, nice amenities, wonderful staff and walking distance to downtown Ashland (good restaurants, stores and entertainment). I love the history of the place and with the updates it’s even more comfortable.
My only complaint, ever, has been with other guests. This trip there were young children chasing each other through the halls with no adult supervision until after 11 pm. The last trip was several rooms of very intoxicated and loud adults who didn’t settle down until quite late. Both of these stays were on weekends so you might find it more relaxing from Sunday to Thursday. I’ll still go back, but less often than I would like I think."

"The staff was not nice when I called asking how we can get into our room since we were arriving late and the check in document said the doors locked and we would have to coordinate our arrival which was different than what they told us over the phone. The hotel said they had continental breakfast and all there was was yogurt, granola bar, and milk. The pillows were hard as a rock. The hotel bar said it’s hours were until midnight Friday and Saturday and we got back from snowmobiling at 10pm wanting to hangout at the bar hotel and they told us they were told they had to close. We will not be staying there again. "

"Clean room, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. What could have been better would be more bath towels, there were only 2 in the bathroom, not enough for 2 people for 2 nights. Housekeeping only restocks every 3rd day of stay so we had to ask at front desk for more. Also indoor pool was very cold for February, warmer would have been nicer. "
