"A quaint old fashioned style of hotel which I mean in a good way.Friendly and helpful staff along with good meals both for breakfast and in the evening at the Sportsman’s Bar.Wouldn’t hesitate to book again in the future. At the time I booked it was good value as well through Expedia."
"Fantastic place , so clean and welcoming, and tasty breakfast each morning, couple minutes walk to Cartmel Racecourse, and right in the centre of the village square with great pubs and lovely shops ♥️"
"From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."
"My sister and I spent just a couple of nights here and truly fell in love with the house and staff. Every interaction was easy and kind, the house was incredibly well kept, and the grounds were gorgeous. It's located a bit out of the way which is perfect for minimizing crowds and noise! Our room was perfectly sized and the bed/bedding comfortable. All in all, a 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone in any stage of life."

"A beautiful property where we were made to feel very welcome.
The owner was helpful giving suggestions for taxi firms and ev charging points.
We had the breakfast on the first morning which had a good selection of food, including fresh fruit and some lovely yoghurts.
A great location for Newby Bridge and lakes end steam train, ferry and aquarium. "
"Wow! I was wo happy when I arrived at the Watch Tree after the long drive! It was pristine and had those lovely touches and attention to detail so you felt Steve and Jayne really love the place and want you to relax, which i did! The window/riverseat is a wonderful way to have some time out.
There's loads to do locally, from walking, swimming, dining out and exploring local sites such as Conishead Priory, and the apartment is weĺl equipped for relaxing and eating in, too. The apartment was bigger than i expected, and the stairs were good for me!
I highly recommend the Watch Tree, I felt it was a 5 star stay!
