The hotel room was perfect. The shower was really good, the pool was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. We weren’t very far from the airport and there were plenty of places to eat nearby. It was easy to get to other major places and for all tourist trips this hotel was one of the pickups. A good choice for us.
Excellent five star hotel with modern rooms with all the amenities and a cloud like bed. Great restaurants, rooftop bar, 8th floor pool, all overlooking the South China Sea with many waterfront dining options and markets within easy walking distance.
Fantastic place to stay.easy access to town.markets.islands.and day trips.
Fantastic service .happy hotel lovely staff.
15th floor sunset views.
Next to water front.. 10/10
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Everything was clean, well-maintained, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay.
The standout feature was the stunning pool with an amazing view—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. The location was also ideal, making it easy to explore the area. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable getaway!
Comfortable and spacious room. Beautiful shower. Breakfast buffet had plenty of options. The pool got a bit noisy with tourists constantly snapping instagram photos over the infinity pool but good location overall and I would stay again.
Huge rooms and very comfortsble, with great views to the ocean. Check in , concierge, pool and retaurant staff were wonderful. Swimming pool was great. Would highly recomend.
The staff were super friendly and very attentive. The breakfast food was very delicious. The sitting area around the people is limited, and many children share the pool.
Probably one of the best located hotels in the centre of KK.
Perfect views from the rear of the hotel.
Good facilities but some of the furniture was a bit worn.
Car parking was good but in a disused part of the complex.
We love the sea view. The down side is not much choices for restaurant.

Best executive lounge staff in Kota Kinabalu!
Marriott has had its best days even the it is starred still as 5. Fortunately we had booked a room with executive lounge access and it was the highlight of the stay as Mr. Nigel Wong and Ms. Felicia took care of us during our 5 days of spending in the hotel. They made us felt more than welcome and shared some good tips what to do in Kota Kinabalu. Also, the exec.lounge had the best view to the sea and beautiful sunsets.
After an extremely long two days of flying, the first hotel messed up my booking. I went over to the Marriott and they instantly helped me, were extremely kind. They have an excellent restaurant, pool and gym that I enjoyed.
The location is great. It's walking distance about 15-20mins to the famous weekend Gaya Street market, Filipino market, Central market etc. Half the way is covered walkway because Marriott Hotel entrance is at one end and the building is big; so it takes about 5-10mins to walk to the end of the building. Gym looks great although we didn't used it. The breakfast buffet was good enough.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The hotel offered satisfactory service with notably quick in-room dining.
The sea view and location were impressive, ideal for those seeking delicious food and family time.
The quality of food and service was decent, and the room was fine for those not expecting luxury standards. (However, the shower head in the room needed repairs due to low water flow.)
A special shout-out to Nigel at the front desk who was a true superstar! His patience and professionalism during our check-in were outstanding, landing us an amazing room with a breathtaking sea view and balcony! I also want to express my gratitude for all the excellent dining suggestions he provided us. Thank you Nigel!
1. The Oceanus Shopping Mall is not fully operational. However the 3 convenient-marts along the corridor did help.
2. The bathroom walk-in closet is fantastic. More lighting in shower and vanity area will help in attending ourselves. Sofa and carpet looks pretty aged. It will be good if there’s a sofa cover (washable) to rest on, feeling more fresh and comfortable. The tv top quarter screen illumination is dark-shaded, uneven one-sided brightness. But tv channels are pretty fantastic. The phone, “At Your Service” button is not working. We have to go to front desk to order food.
3. If there’s poster/notices at the concierge corner, it’d help to remind us on local tours and attractions to explore. We overlooked some important tours.
4. Services and attentiveness are pretty sharp and impressive, by the hotel gentlemen. Especially Nizam, the Teh-Tarik guy at breakfast, the breakfast manager (i think?), the Chinese spectacled guy receiving us from Grabs, and also Suhayl. All are sincere, polite, calm, and relaxing cool vibes. And the fair big (fat?) chef, that cooked my char kway teow to “perfect” flavor, only got him once, then he’s gone! (Why?!) This is the most homely feel to us. So keep up snd well done!
5. In future, we hope for a nice developed walkway, from hotel all the way to Suria Sabah, and to Imago Mall. We do enjoy our walks. But the area’s touting activities: massage services and seafood, feels rather intrusive. Otherwise, local tours are pretty refreshing.
