A good hotel that won't disappoint in a secluded location on a quiet paradise island. The rooms are finished to a high standard. To explore the island we definitely recommend taking the scooters We had the family villa with 5 adults. The extra bed was a mattress on the floor. A better extra bed, maybe a rollaway bed would be appreciated. Also the housekeeping staff did not make this bed each day which was strange.

This is an absolutely beautiful location within the island of koh mak. The staff are all so welcoming and friendly. The lady at reception (i forgot to ask her name ...sorry) was very funny and made us laugh lots throughout our stay. She helped us with any requests that we had. (Other hotels were the 4* Awa Resort on Ko Chang and Choaloa Tosang Beach Resort on Choa load beach on the mainland). Shantaa is the most peaceful place i have been in thailand - its very private and even when the resort is fully booked it seems like there is four of five times more space than required. This makes it very special and magical - the staff are excellent and the food is also great ! Beds are super comfortable and the servive is perfect . Shantaa is a perfect place for people who are looking to escape life and find true tranquility for a moment - be careful though you might never want to leave !!

The sea view villas are very quiet and private, though the sea view is somewhat blocked by trees, and there is no sand so don't expect a beach view. Still a pretty setting beside the ocean, nice for relaxing. Minimalistic style rooms, well layed out and have everything you need. Excellent service, especially in the restaurant and the breakfasts are delicious and beautifully presented. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend, especially for couples.
