We enjoyed our 2night stay at Hays Wood. Our 2 bedroom was very comfortable clean and spacious. We did note that there was no laundry facilities in lodge or on site.

Beautiful

Booked for a one night Stay at Hay’s wood retreat, After finding an absolute bargain on Hotels.com. After checking in and been given the keys to our little chalet, it is safe to say we have been completely blown away by how beautiful this place really is. Off the beaten track this place really is bringing you back to nature. The chalets are a great size, very comfortable clean modern and family friendly. I honestly cannot fault this place. I really hope I could book to come here again soon.

Comfortable but mattresses and bed linen prevent me from giving it a higher rating. If you are expecting very comfortable mattress and crisp white linen then you will be disappointed. Kitchen facilities are excellent. Living room furniture is also in good condition. Patio furniture could be more comfortable as in having a recliner

I generally stay in 4–5 star accommodation, and based on the website description and previous reviews, I expected Hay’s Wood Retreat to fall into that category. Unfortunately, the standard of the lodge did not match the ‘luxury’ billing — in my assessment it was closer to a solid 3-star property. If you’re used to genuinely high-end accommodation, I’d recommend tempering your expectations regardless of the marketing or other reviews you may have read. It’s a perfectly adequate stay, but ‘luxury’ is not the word I would use to describe it
