Booked a short notice overnight stay in one of the upgraded pods. It was very nice with a very nice location.
It was really quiet and peaceful.
We booked dinner in the restaurant and the staff wee attentive, accomodating and very polite. The food choice wasnt huge but the quality of the food was good. It was a little pricey for what it was but you are paying tourist hotel prices.
Overall we had a lovely time and would consider booking one of the larger cottages for a family event in the...

The staff were friendly, with one lovely ginger boy telling us lots of stories about the hotel and its origins, and one tall waiter finding us a seat looking onto the arena despite those tables all being reserved (sorry that I forgot the actual names!) The lodge was cosy, clean, well equipped and also wheelchair accessible which we thought was a nice touch. The food was amazing.. "best salmon I've had in years' and the bruschetta and mussels also top notch for very fair prices.

I stayed with two friends to do some walking in the Trossachs and Loch Lomond area. Our primary requirement was for somewhere of a reasonable standard within easy driving distance of where we wanted to walk. In the event, the Abbotsford Hotel delivered all that we wanted and more. The accommodation was good, in comfortable well-fitted rooms, food was great and, most of all, the staff were as friendly and helpful as any I have come across. 2 good nights sleep. Good size room. King sixe bed and matress zzzzzz. Both meals and breakfasts were great. The staff are very pleasant and polite. They actually look like they enjoy working there. This could be because it is an NHS run hospital so less stressful on the staff. The views are of the River Clyde. Both days we watched the last ocean going steam paddle ship sail past it is the best sight and sound.

An excellent small hotel in a rather grand Victorian house on the main road in Callendar. Easy walk into town. Great base for exploring the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Stunning scenery. Recommend going to Lock Katrine, it is beautiful. Loch Lomond was best on its east side, the west side is nearest Glasgow and attracts a lot of people in the summer. The nearby waterfall is worth the walk. The couple who run the hotel are friendly and helpful, and put on the best breakfast we has...

A short but very pleasant stay at the hotel. As I was visiting relatives I didn't use all the hotel facilities but the room was large, quiet and comfortable, albeit a bit dark. Breakfast was excellent as I expected.

The hotel has beautiful scenic views and gorgeous interior. The staff at this hotel could not have been more welcoming, starting with reception, to house keeping, to the staff at the spa/pool and lastly but not least the restaurant staff. I did, however, have one negative experience which was that I passed out in the spa sauna - the high tempature and my low blood pressure were not a good mix. This bad experience was turned around though due to the amazing staff at the spa who made sure I was...

Superb luxury hotel .. right on the Loch yet 20 miles or so from Glasgow . Very top end spot yet totally unpretentious . Lots of restaurants and bars , great well appointed room and a common theme of professional staff in all areas of the hotel . Our room was very nice, well appointed with good storage and en-suite and we had a nice Loch view . We can recommend the Cameron grill too , that’s a great steak restaurant.. and sitting with a cocktail in the lobby or Great Scot’s bar looking out on...

I have stayed in this hotel many times before. It is situated in the west end of Glasgow on the junction between Byres Road and Great Western Road. This gives you easy access to the amenities of the city centre via the subway on Byres Road but it’s less congested than the city centre. There are easy access to green spaces in the city, the Botanic Gardens and Kelvingrove. The hotel is very comfortable with an excellent breakfast. The staff have always been very helpful and friendly, to me anyway....
