"A very comfortable hotel with exceptional service. The room was lovely with great views of the river and mountains. The food in the restaurant was of a very high quality. We stayed two nights and had a superb French-style meal on the first night with wine pairing. On the second night there was an excellent Japanese meal with Sake pairing. Very impressed overall. "

"Booked to stay here for an authentic Ryokan Onsen experience on our Japan holiday. This was our first time at both a ryokan and an Onsen so we don’t have an awful lot to compare it to on those aspects. However, the positives of the hotel were that the staff were very friendly and happy to help. They spoke a small amount of English and were happy to try to assist when needed. "The view was exceptional when we arrived and the staff was amazing and super accommodating since we had someone who didn't like fish. Nel was particularly lovely and kind. We'd be happy to host her if she ever gets the chance to come visit Canada like she wants :) Decoration could use a freshen up, but it was comfortable and the 24h baths were great. Food was also delicious and there was so much! We could never finish our whole meal."

"Very cozy. This place makes you feel like home. The bedroom is nice and clean. The common room, where you can put your food in the fridge, provides free coffee/tea. It is a shared bathroom that you can put “in use” sign for your own private use. The staff is so kind. He also recommended the nearby place to see the autumn leaves. Not only the staff but also the other guests are very kind and friendly. "
