We only stayed one night and didn’t get to enjoy all the offerings of the hotel, but the property is nicely appointed and the staff we encountered were extremely knowledgeable and professional. Our king/mountain-view room was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the free shuttle to downtown Banff.

All staff were friendly and helpful. Gathering spaces are classic and beautiful. However, rooms are dated. For the price, I expected more. Speaking of price, there were approximately $175 additional room charges per night.

The hotel's main point is the view from the rooms , yet the vibe is a little too old for my taste honestly The parking rates are very very very expensive, definitely not worth it , especially that being there with a big car is definitely not a pleasant experience We tried the restaurant breakfast , it's nice , but I would rather go for other restaurants in downtown the staff is very friendly honestly and extremely helpful , I had one issue where room service misplaced something in my room on a day and in the next day I had a do not disturb hanged , yet they still entered the room , the staff manager apologized personally and they made sure no one was in the room and gave me a discount on the parking rate

I liked that it was a distance from the town and therefore, quiet. There was transportation readily available to go into town. The room was amazing, however, it would have been nice to have a motion light in the bathroom so that it wasn’t so bright at night. The fires were delightful and a nice touch would have been ‘s’mores kits’ available for purchase. Just for fun 😉.,

Rimrock was a nice older hotel which had been well maintained. Loved the coffee shop , spacious rooms and bathrooms. On the verge of needing rooms remodeled. But still very nice. We walked to gondola and ate at the northern lights restaurant at the top of gondola. They had shuttle to downtown Banff which was nice too

Staff was nice. We got complimentary desserts because it was our anniversary. But we asked for an extra lamp for the room but never got it. The room was adequate. Beds comfortable. We had a suite but our view was of the roof and partially obstructed view of mountain and gondola. Bathroom was dated. Tub grout needs to be refurbished. Carpet in rooms and hallway is old looking too. Pool and hot tub were nice to use after a long day but need refurbishing. Grout in pool area is stained and looks unsanitary. Water pooled at entrance to pool. Drainage not adequate. Could be breeding ground for bacteria. The balcony area in lounge/restaurant area on main level only enough for a few people, not a good outdoor space for many to take in the forest views. Not all rooms have balconies. A design flaw not taking advantage of the scenery and geography. Food in lounge available til midnight. That was good. We were hungry late. We ordered food but ate it in our room. Breakfast buffet was always lukewarm. Not super tasty but it filled you up. You can ask for omelets to be made to your liking. I asked for a spinach, mushroom, cheese & onion omelette. It tasted really off like the chef never made one before. Shuttles to town were good. The drivers were very friendly and helpful. Because of its location this hotel has so much potential. Needs renovations, kind of dated, redo public spaces so guests can experience more of the outdoors. Would I return? Only if hotel is renovated.

While we enjoyed our stay the Rimrock Hotel with spectacular view of the mountains. I felt the hotel was outdated and needed a little modernization for the price we paid. Transportation to/from town was excellent and drivers were super friendly.

I was excited to book a room here at first but upon entering the room, my family and I were discussed by a horrible smell. It smells like mold because the room is worn, broken table, bathroom light fixtures were flickering and overall condition of the room was just bad. For what we paid, it was definitely not worth it. The only thing that was nice was the mountain view. I would never stay here again.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities
Had lunch while waiting for our room and other tables who were seated after us were served their food before us. Eventually food arrived cold. Check in was disorganized and not professional. The room was dirty and furniture VERY worn. After providing feedback to the restaurant manager, concierge desk and the main manager nothing was resolved. There was a lot of thanks for feedback etc. very disappointing overall. Will only book at Banff Springs and if that property is sold out I just won’t go to Banff. Rimrock is 3 stars.
