This property is quite old compared to what else is around and the photos on the website are a little deceiving. The staff are friendly and helpful but the condition of the rooms especially the bathrooms were disappointing.

The Christmas spirit in the Capital Villas.

My family and I spent three nights,including Christmas eve and Christmas Day in the Capital Villas. Gloria, the Duty Manager, was exceptionally welcoming and helpful and went out of way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant, staying on after her shift had ended to make sure we left safely for the airport and to make sure that some young children in the swimming pool had all the time they wanted to swim on Christmas day. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The location, in the heart of Sandton, was very convenient for access to the airport and the shopping malls. The Capital Villas offered excellent value for money and I will certainly stay there in future when back in Johannesburg.

Excellent staff!

Initially the apartment provided was way below expectation as was the interaction with the security staff. However, the reception staff the following morning were very accommodating and went out of there way to provide a better room. Keith was particularly professional and very pleasant. The housekeeping staff was also very friendly.

Great Apartment For The Price

The capital Villa was great overall, the location is perfect as its close to Santon city and any party venue in Santon and surroundings. We booked a 2 bed room apartment which had everything you would need. Space is great as it has big kitchen and lounge with a balcony. It has two nice size beds rooms which both have their own baths and toilets. Downside is that we had less towels in the room so make sure you ask them for it before you check in. For the price it’s all you need.

O apartamento do hotel é amplo e completo, com cozinha equipada e dois amplos quartos com banheiros completos; quando chegamos estava limpo e arrumado. Entretanto, não tem ar-condicionado nos quartos, apenas na sala de estar do apartamento e isso não fica claro na descrição que está no site. Os apartamentos estão dispostos em 6 blocos, com 5 andares cada, não tem elevador e a escada é bastante estreita. Dos blocos até a recepção o único caminho é pela mesma via dos carros, sem cobertura ou calçada. O hotel não tem serviço de quarto e a recepção não funciona 24 horas. Chegamos num domingo e, nesse dia, a recepção só funciona até as 16 horas. A localização do hotel é muito boa; muito próximo da Mandela's Square e da estação do Gautrain.

When I arrived the back of the toilet was dirty and it did not get better. On 2 different days I watched the house keeping just mop the floors no sweeping or anything. I put a few things around the apartment to see if they would get touched. 3 weeks they never moved!! We had to call for toilet paper almost every day, house keeping would not leave any. Me and my spouse where botj regestered to the room but they would only leave one towel. No one was ever swimming in the pool. We went to look at it and there was a film on the top of the water. They just leave a filter hose in it. We asked about a late check out the day before was told if there where any problems with it they would let us know.. the day of check out we got a call that we would be charged if we didn't leave...so I guess there really was a problem... was not happy at all with the service and we will not be back.

Central, safe, clean & beautiful apartment hotel

Stay was great, rooms and facilities were great. Perhaps just additional towels, cleaner carpet or new carpet in lounge, dressing area in room with plug points as 1 room didn't have this facility and service with carrying luggage as we stayed up on apartment 5. Everything else was perfect. Very safe and clean, very spacious. Service from front desk was brilliant, we left 2 hours after check out due to a late night and the staff were very hospitable and not rude at all. The service with accommodating us will definitely make me come back again.

L'endroit qui se veut standing n'en a que l'apparence. Notre appartement (spacieux) au 1er étage était desservi par un escalier sale. Dommage de devoir faire la vaisselle de la cuisine en arrivant, et même la lessive ! Même l'essuie-vaisselle en tissu n'était pas propre (mais déjà utilisé). La réception n'a même pas daigné nous fournir le produit vaisselle nécessaire ! A ce prix, on peut s'attendre à largement mieux ! Pour l'avoir testé, le "Westpoint Executive Suites" est un bien meilleur choix, que ce soit pour le service impeccable ou pour les prestations offertes.

Great family acommodation.

The Capital Villa was a great place for for my family to stay, having 2 bedrooms, both with King beds, separated by a spacious living area with 2 full bathrooms. The kitchen was better than most self catering apartments with all the basics for a family of 4. Breakfast was available near reception. Security was good with the gate manned 24/7, although a con artist could probably get in without too much trouble. The receptionist was very professional and helpful. On the downside, the apartments are surrounded by construction at the moment, making walking to the nearby Sandton Mall more difficult than usual and feel dangerous after dark. There are no backup generators, so we sat in the dark when the area lost power for a few hours as part of South Africa's load shedding.

Spacious rooms, but noisy andin need of renovation

Nice and spacious rooms however there was much building work and the single pane windows did little to dampen the noise. Only one (noisy) air conditioning unit and no TV in the bedroom was a disappointment. Everything just appeared “old” and in need of renovation. Location was good – very close to the shops and huge mall. Avoid “Block A” - many times security was either not by the entrance or did not notice cars arriving and cars would have to honk their horn to get attention so the security doors could be opened. Block A is right by the entrance ! If the rooms were updated, and sound-proofed the place would be excellent.

Spacious, comfortable apartment hotel.

Very nice 2 BR apartment within walking distance of Nelson Mandela Mall and Gautrain Sandton Station. Lots of construction in the area, although walking is possible. Place seems to cater more to long-term stay or business visitors and staff hours are limited. However, it was a great deal for the price.
