Room was nice. The buffet was awful.
Loud drunks in the bar, who then moved into the buffet. The buffet food was utterly terrible.

Service is not upto standards
On the first day we got to the hotel, the bathroom toilet had poop stains, and we had to get housekeeping to clean it. There was old soap left in the bathroom from the previouse guest and the old soap reminded in the bathroom the entire lenght of my stay. I arrange for wine to be put into the room and that was never done. Also arrange for a piece of cake to be sent to us after dinner on the last night of our stay because it was my fiance birthday, and this was never done. I call the front desk and laid a complaint and they said the manage will chat to me the next day, that never happend.

Not worth the cost or experience.
Terrible Service from dinning areas. Food for dinner far below what you would expect from a hotel of this statue. Fish Dry and overcooked. Buffer food badly prepared. Seems to be under staffed and the staff are untrained. Spoke to a few other guests who shared the same sentiments.

Absolutely perfect
We spent two nights at Mount Grace and honestly, we would have extended our stay if we didn't have plans in Jo'burg the next day. We will definitely return and will spend more than two days there next time Highlights included: - our beautiful Deluxe room with porch opening onto a verdant scene with views of the mountain - the golf carts to transfer my older in-laws around - all meals. We sampled each of the restaurants, including room service, and all food was excellent - the walk we took around the property. There are cycling tracks too - all staff. The service we received from every single person we met was superb - views from the breakfast room and throughout the property. - we spent a day at the spa after checking out. All treatments, service and lunch were fantastic. Highly recommend time spent in the floatation pool plus the couples spa package

Stay was fine until Saturday night .Saturday night there was a function there and there was loud music until 23h00 .WE complained as we went there to relax . They manager apologised next day That was too late

No extra blankets in the rooms, aircon remote's batteries were dead. Food was sub-standard. I did not receive everything I ordered for room service. No flat sheet on the bed. TV channels are very limited.

For the price that I paid I expected better conditions. No air conditioning in the restaurant to eat breakfast and dinner, so you sweated. Air conditioning in the room was broken kept shutting off had to keep waking up in the middle of the night to turn it on. The private pool in the room the water was dirty and not clear so couldn’t see the steps or the bottom to come in and out, the windows and room where dirty, no water or coffee was provided in the room. The spa staff was rude. Safety was a joke had a waitress staff calling the room at 1am asking if we where awake. Not sure why. The property is beautiful, beautiful landscaping but I would not recommend staying here, everything else was terrible. I would stay down the street at black horse.

A very pleasant stay with minor comments
Our stay was very pleasant despite the coldish and wet weather. The Spa treatment was superb (Brenda & Lebo) and we will be back. Breakfast was a treat but the quality of the two dinners we had could be improved on. The "tomato sauce" of the penne arrabiata was mediocre and I have never paid R105 for a tiny, triangular slice of tiramisu which was definitely not worthy of a 5-star hotel. I mentioned this to the head waitress and she took down our room number but we did not hear anything further.

Mostly pleasant but breakfast service was shocking and unacceptable. Did receive the generic apology though, so suppose one needs to accept that if anything goes wrong or is below standard, there should be an apology to make it all better. Disappointing end to the breakaway although in all fairness to the rest of the service - it did start off really well! Great service from Jane at reception and the various golf cart drivers who were always smiling and super efficient. Host and Chef at breakfast - needs to learn how to cook eggs, listen to an order, and treat all their guests the same!

Lovely hotel, but...
Lovely hotel the room was beautiful but the service was absolutely dreadful so disappointing. Dirty plates left over from room service were never removed from our room the excuse given was that you needed to request it. When we asked for additional tea bags for a cup of tea in the morning we were told by reception it was not their department. We were seated at a dirty breakfast table. we left a cell phone charger at the hotel by mistake initially it could not be located, when it could be located we were told there is no way it could be sent with someone to head office we could collect it ourselves. we have never seen service quite like it in a hotel of this standard. So sad. Was not a 5 star experience.

Beautiful surroundings! We were placed close to the pool area and it was very noisy! No fault of other visitors; just not a good placement by check in staff.

Good service, but I expected more value for money
Noticed some guests got set up around the pool; was just wondering why we were not asked/notified to be set up likewise? Saturday morning breakfast - they had no black tea, just all the others? Kids playing in the warm water pool, where they should have played in the Kids Pool? Was quite disturbing. Hotel could have circulated a simple form, to provide COVID info and Check-in info?? Like with any online-check-in, 72 hours in advance. This will substantially shorten the check-in duration and line.

Dear Rudolf, Thank you for taking the time provide us with feedback on your recent stay experience at Mount Grace Hotel & Spa. All of our pools are available to all guests even the children. We do have pool facilities situated at the Mount Grace Spa which are not available to be used by children under 16. You are more then welcome to request a setup in a specific area if you do prefer for us to do so and we will gladly assist. With regards to the check-in procedure it works best when we explain everything on arrival, however we will have a look at how best we can shorten this procedure.
