Disliked: Staff & service
The location is good, with shops close to the hotel, and there is a small mall and a park nearby. The cleanliness is good, but there was an issue with a blocked water drain in the shower. The check-in was delayed; it was supposed to be at 2 PM, but I was asked to wait and I waited for about two hours. In the end, I was informed that the room was ready, but there were no towels or pillow covers in the room, and they said they would be prepared once the laundry arrived at the hotel.

Very disappointing, mainly sleep quality was terrible as in the courtyard the guards were talking very loudly (taken a video if you want to see it) from about 4am, booked breakfast at R250pp and there was no buffet, got a piece of paper and a pen to select what we wanted, way below average meal with zero effort. Staff were friendly however and even though we had no towels or cups for coffee in the room they quickly rectified that.
Hotel total appotpriate for our needs. Very close the Gautrain Hatfiled station, and really easy to get to our client. Modern, clean and great service.
Muito bom tudo , pessoal da decepação , do café da manhã , todos simpáticos e atenciosos , limpeza Exelente , hotel muito confortável e localização excelente , ao lado do shopping Mandela , ao lado da estação trem Sandton , nota 10. Aprovado 👏👏
It was a pleasant yet average stay. Staff was ok service vice wise, though there seemed to be a shortage of staff as they looked a little overwhelmed in certain areas. The location is good, room size and facilities are all great. There could be better upkeep of facilities and general cleanliness is slightly below acceptable.
They stay was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The room were very clean and the bedding extremely comfortable. We were in a room without a view of the city but if you are on business trip, the location of the hotel is extremely convenient.
Myself and three colleagues (university professors) along with my sister and son entered the lobby of Fortis Manor Protea. The disposition on the onset was not inviting nor welcoming after a long travel day. We prepaid our room reservation. I approached the reception desk and presented the Travelocity confirmation and prepaid documentation only to be told that there were no rooms available and that I needed to show proof of payment. Samantha in a rude tone told us to step away from the front desk as to avoid us and to avoid the issues of no room. We did step away for 20 minutes I started calling Travelocity. I walked again to the front desk and called for a supervisor. Although I gave the documentation to Samantha, I had to call Travelocity on my cell phone so the Travelocity agent could dialogue with her and confirmed that I paid the room. At that point, she stated, “okay I have a room for you.” My three colleagues had a worst experience. They did not get a room. The hotel did not get them another room at another hotel. Transportation was not provided to transfer them to another location. We recommend that the hotel staff do the following (1) Greet the guest positively and professionally (2) Provide transportation to area hotels; (4) Utilize hotel phone for calls to Travelocity rather than the prepaid guest cell phone (5) have alternative accommodations when sold out.
