Serenity Valley - Zhangjiajie

"Serenity Valley is a must stay hotel for anyone visiting Zhangjiajie & the Avatar Mountains. Not only was the property spotless, modern, and very luxe, but what truly made our stay incredible was the owners, staff, and service. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed and they treated us like family. Jenny, the owner, is an absolute gem. She went above and beyond to help us navigate ticket booking websites, plan our itinerary, and plan logistics. Even without the amazing service, this stay would have been incredible. Yet the caretakers and service provided make me wish I could rate this stay 100/10!!! Stop the search, book Serenity Valley and thank me later! (Property cat Mimi is adorable)"

"Location is 6 mins walk from the middle gate of the Forrest Park entrance and about 20 mins DiDi ride to Walingyuen or Xibu Old Street. Staff super helpful. Gave us great suggestions on places to visit and also sold tickets to attractions. Breakfast buffet was fine..mix of Chinese and Western foods. You can also order bowls of noodles 🍜 which comes in spicy soup. We didn’t use the pool at all because of the weather. We went late September and we were ‘in the cloud’ most mornings on the 6 nights we stayed. We had one of the 2 bed suites with terrace and the rooms were large and clean. Came with a clothes washer and drying rack. We didn’t use the terrace at all because there was a fence around parts of it which you can’t see through and there were large bits of plastic (like bin lids) strewn around. There are tables outside the lobby facing the fields across the road which are good to sit at which we did use. There were restaurants and bars walking distance from the hotel. We ate at the one next door upstairs which was very good, and a nice little open air coffee, drinks bar called Pastoral Station which lit a Bon fire and had a singer every night. There is also a small convenience shop next to the hotel which opens til 10pm."

"The staff were super helpful, offered to help with tours, they also offered to take my bags to the room. Room was spotless, they have a massage area, pool and Gym and more importantly for me a convenience store. I would definitely visit again"

"We had room 301. Amazing views but the treadmill didn't work. The room was very clean and had a nice platform to drink tea and enjoy the views. There is also a jacuzzi to enjoy. The room is very big and spacious."

"Great place, super relaxing. Ask for noodle soup for breakfast otherwise you get a sweet clubsandwich. If arrive mid September pack warm clothes as it can get pretty cold compared to surrounding areas. We went from 16 degrees at 1 pm to 33 degrees at 4pm by just taking the train."

"I had a pleasant stay overall. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. A special thanks to the boss lady and the lovely front desk girl who greeted me every morning with such warmth and sunshine-like positivity. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and the breakfast was very good. Everything felt organized and comfortable. The only issue was that the room I received looked nothing like the one shown in the booking photos. The advertised images featured a luxury suite with a large window, mountain views, and a spacious layout. The actual room was considerably smaller, located on the ground floor, and had no view whatsoever. I understand that photos can sometimes differ, but the difference was significant enough to be disappointing. Despite that, the wonderful staff and overall quality of the property made for a good experience."
