One of the most beautiful ryokans I've been to. The gardens, the pond, the koi - simply stunning. Feels like you've been catapulted back in time. Location is right next to Shuzenji temple & bamboo forest. Staff was increadibly hospitable too with an eye for detail and went the extra mile in taking care of our luggae, car & my mum's rollator storage. Food (especially dinner) was very good too. Owner was absolutely amazing. The shuttle service he provided was a god send. He drops you off somewhere in the morning and picks you up in the evening. He has WhatsApp which is helpful. The dogs are very cute. We got upgraded to a bigger room. The laundry services were great too.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location at the end of a little track is exciting and then the rooms are beautiful.
There are little private onsen dotted around the grounds so it is worth arriving early to try out a few in your yukata. There is an incredible dinner at 6pm- a varied selection of sashimi, miso soup and many other delicacies- all of it is beautifully presented.breakfast was a similar feast.

It is the staff and surroundings that make this hotel. The reception team could not do enough for us. The hotel has an unusual Hawaiian vibe. Be aware that the hotel is dated cosmetically but nothing that dented our enjoyment. The breakfasts were amazing and the best we had during the whole trip.
