Great service. Attendant was very friendly & accommodating of our limited Japanese.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location at the end of a little track is exciting and then the rooms are beautiful. There are little private onsen dotted around the grounds so it is worth arriving early to try out a few in your yukata. There is an incredible dinner at 6pm- a varied selection of sashimi, miso soup and many other delicacies- all of it is beautifully presented.breakfast was a similar feast. The hotel Manager Miwako was exceedingly helpful. She and her staff made us feel...

The onsen baths were really lovely. The room was beautiful. The staff were so helpful. Only critisism is that is smelled a bit musty, but there was a typhoon outside so that probably wasnt helping

Beautiful views, incredible service, and loved the private onsen. Highly recommend! The only area for improvement would be if the spa could open earlier. It’s a shame it doesn’t open until 4pm and I was stuck for something to do while my other half played golf!

The hotel has excellent facilities, in particular with private outdoor hot spring water bath, which is very enjoyable. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is excellent, but little too expensive. The hotel also has shuttle bus to the train station. Some facilties need proper maintainence, such as basin. Cleaness could be improved. Overall, this is a good hotel.

A great place to enjoy onsen and Japanese food.

Cashless Hotel , good location for the cable car

Great hotel! Friendly and helpful staff and we had a comfortable room! We definitely recommended the private onsens as this was the highlight of our stay. There are regular buses available from directly outside the hotel and a few restaurants around as well.

Very authentic Japanese ryokan experience. We had a huge tatami room which we found to be comfortable, although our room had no private outdoor bath which would have made it extra special. The rooftop onsen has spectacular views. Breakfast in our room was fantastic. One point would be that access to the ryokan could be challenging for some as it's atop quite a steep hill. WiFi is patchy but then you are here to relax and unwind!

Amazing stay at the Yamadaya, the staff were amazing, Great location in the hills of Hakone. The dinner and breakfast were amazing traditional Japanese dishes, so tasty. The view from the room in the morning was lovely.
