"Pool wasn’t open yet for the season but the hospitality of the front desk staff made up for the inconvenience."

"WE WERE DISSAPPOINTED WITH A COUPLE OF THINGS WE STAYED HERE FOR 5 NIGHTS AFTER THE SECOND NIGHT WE COMPLAINED ABOUT 2 THINGS MAIN PROBLEM WAS THE HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER. WATER WAS VERY HOT INTHE SINK BUT ONLY LUKEWARM IN THE SHOWER. WE WERE FREEZING EVERYTIME WE BATHED. ALSO THEY ASKED ABOUT CLEANING THE ROOM AND WE REQUESTED EVERY OTHER DAY CLEANING BUT IT GOT DONE ONLY ONCE THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. JUST LEFT US IN SAME ROOM WITH NO IMPROVEMENT TO THE WATER SITUATION. HAVE BEEN STAYING WITH BEST WESTERN THE LAST FEW MONTHS BECAUSE OF GOOD STAYS SEVERAL TIMES AT PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC. DON'T THINK I'LL BE DOING IT ANY MORE. THE LADY IN THE BREAKFAST AREA WAS OUTSTANDING. KEPT IT SUPPLIED AND VERY CLEAN."

"You get what you pay for I guess? 115$ a night for two queen beds. They have some folks who are living at the hotel, hanging out on the sidewalks. Found a guy shooting up in a U-Haul truck they permanently left open the two days we were there. The pool chairs are mostly functioning. Two were aged and broken. Asked for 4 extra towels, because they had no pool towels. They could only give us 3. The mattresses and sheets are clean with bedbug covers on them. No blow dryers, cheap toilet paper, one bar of soap by the sink, no shampoo or conditioner bottles. No coffee in the rooms, but they have a single pot at the front office. AC leaked the first night, might have been because of rain the day before? The curtains had something nasty on them. The guys who worked there seemed helpful. I think it’s family-owned but we only ever saw one at a time. On the plus side, it is incredibly close to town, restaurants, and the ren faire."

"My husband called to ask if the indoor pool was heated and they told him it was. Ummm… no! The area was heated but the water was cold. There were no towels in the pool area and the shower to rinse off was cold. Also, to dry your wet clothes in the dryer is $3 for 45 minutes. My granddaughters shorts didn’t dry so I had to hang them The dishes in the cabinet were dirty so, I had to wash them before I could even use them. The side door didn’t shut and latch when going in and out unless you pulled the door shut or pushed it shut so, anyone could go into the hotel without a door key. I’m glad we brought our pillows because they do not provide firm pillows, it would have taken 3 pillows stacked to get a good nights sleep We were left less than 1/2 roll of paper towels with no extra in the room. There were 4 of us in the room and, we had pizza for supper. There wasn’t hardly any soap for dishes or washing pizza hands and only 1 facial cleansing soap bar in the bathroom. The room accommodates 5 people yet there were only 3 towels I should have got a cheaper hotel but, my husband is terminal with less than a year to enjoy what he can. He wanted to go back to the renaissance one more time and wanted the trip to be nice for him. He went to the front desk to complain but, I told him I could do reviews vs. talking to a manager and it going no where. The price is NOT worth the stay if you were looking into their amenities. Kids stomped above us till after 11 and before dawn"

"There were black things in the bed. There was mold in the shower. The couch was moist. No texas waffles; preview had texas waffles. Very important!!! Pet fee was very reasonable. The wifi didnt work. The staff was very nice. No do not disturb sign.the bathroom door didnt fully close and didnt lock. The bathroom vent was very weak to nonexistent. It was very quite and in a good location. Breakfast selection was good aside from the lack of texas waffles."

"Staff are the best!! Room is nice and clean. Total difference from one side of the building to the other though. Front side rooms are pretty noisy, back side rooms are wonderfully quiet.. breakfast is great..."

"The front desk lady was the sweetest with the purple hair I think..property was clean but needs some updating..breakfast looked great but I didn’t eat.. It was a good place to spend the night.."
