"This is our third stay at Hotel Izla in under a year. It’s super clean, super safe, super quiet, with a super staff. I honestly have no clue what all the negative reviewers are talking about. Complaining about palm trees on a tropical island?! Complaining about condensation in a room with a freezing cold A/C when it’s 90 degrees outside and very humid? You can’t expect the staff to bend the laws of physics. Whatever request you have, (if you ask in a polite and pleasant manner), that request is fulfilled in a timely manner. Yes it’s a $15 cab ride each way to Playa Norte, but so what? You’d have to pay hundreds of dollars more to stay at a hotel on the beach anyway, but you won’t sleep as well because Playa Norte is never as peaceful and as quiet as Hotel Izla. We can’t wait to get back. "

"We were in a two bedroom suite and loved all the space. We enjoyed being on the beach but also loved being able to walk out to numerous restaurants and shops. We rented a golf cart two days and got to experience more of the island visiting Punta Sur, Garrafon de Castillo and Kin Ha Beach Club. We loved the island and would definitely stay at Hotel Ixchel again."

"This is a wonderfully private and quiet resort! There are bars and things to do close by but it felt like you were a world away from the business of North Beach. I liked the food was made fresh to order, no buffets of picked over food!"
