"This place was great for our one day in Albuquerque before flying out after visiting Santa Fe. The property is fun; the rooms are styled well and very clean. We enjoyed the complimentary beer from The Tap Room at one of the many outdoor tables. The outside spaces are a nice feature of this property. The room was clean and the bedding comfy. My only wish is that the pool was open. It was one of the key features that made me select The El Vado over other options and having the pool not open yet was a bit of a disappointment. "

"There were no coffee makers in the rooms. They didn't have ice buckets. The breakfast was terrible. We were told that they couldn't find their egg pans! And it was so noisy that each room had ear plugs. One person on the front desk was polite but the other two at the desk made you feel like you were bothering them."

"It lists as newly remodeled, our room was not. The bathroom tub was chipped/scraped. The shower nozzle wasn't connected to the wall. When taking a shower, the water didn't drain so you stood in the water. The room needs a table and chairs. There was 1 rolling chair that leaned back and scared whoever sat in it. We went to breakfast at 9, there was nothing to eat. A worker was sitting in a room off the dining area and said there were no more eggs. That was laughable, there was no more of anything and she didn't seem to want to fix the situation. The outside needs care to make the whole place seem welcoming. The whole property needs care; paint, new furniture, etc."

"Overall the stay was great....the gym was really nice...the only issue was, all but one treadmill was broken. The amenities fee process could have been more transparent. The staff was amazing."

"Checked in and needed to use Wi-Fi for a conference call. Wi-Fi was not working. I went to talk to the hotel employee who told me to connect to another SSID which was not available in my room. I went back to the office and she reset the internet router. Still not working. The issue was a misconfigured Wi-Fi extender in my room, #10. Had to leave the property to attend my conference call. When I initially spoke to the office staff about the issue they said they were aware of the issue, but never addressed it. The rooms are built on a wood substrate so you hear when your neighbor is walking around. The couple next to me were heavy footed and I could hear every step. It's an inexpensive place to stay but I would look for something else next time. "

"Nice hotel. Would echo another reviewer’s comments about the beds needing an upgrade. Our box springs poked out and it was uncomfortable. Hotel grounds are pretty and location is quiet. Enjoyed the Sawmill. "
