"Room was clean and had everything we needed, with the nice addition of some balloons and a birthday message on our return after a day out for our daughter, having told them why we were there on arrival. Staff really helpful throughout. Last minute decision to eat in the bar area (restaurant fully booked) provided us with nice meals, which was against some of the reviews we had read, so I am assuming improvements have been made. Drink choices were good. Breakfast was also good. My wife assured me the full English was tasty, the alternatives I could have were all very nice. Quick use of the pool on our second day before breakfast. It was popular, but everything was clean. Didn’t get chance to use jacuzzi or steam and sauna unfortunately. Only gripe was people smoking directly outside/slightly in, the entrance lobby, but that is just how some people are. I guess even if they were asked to step 3metres to the side they wouldn’t. But one for the reception staff to at least try? "

"Excellent place to stay. Great value for money ; accommodation very comfortable with easy parking. Staff helpful and friendly. The pub and restaurant first rate with excellent menu options. We will definitely make a return visit in the future. "

"Staff were very welcoming and friendly, room clean, bed comfy and shower lovely. Tea and coffee tray good and staff happy to give us more when we asked. Tv was a good size and breakfast was delicious. Good selection of cereals, pastry, hot food, could have as much as we wanted. The only thing that let our stay down a bit this time was the WiFi. Previous stay it was great but this time we were at the end of the corridor and the signal wasn't great, it kept dropping off, even our data didn't work well in that room. If it wasn't for the WiFi then would of rated it excellent instead of good. "

"Clean and tidy. Night time staff not so sure of what they needed to do. For example, I paid for parking but they didn’t give us a ticket to display in the car which could have resulted in a fine for us. It was only after we asked that a ticket was produced. "

"Really bad. Don’t stay here. The receptionist is really weird and made me uncomfortable by forcing to carry my suitcase. Guests want to privately enter their rooms, not have a stranger get close to them. I don’t want anyone to touch my suitcase especially because of COVID "

"The hotel had no hot water, and deliberately didn't disclose this at check-in. When we spoke with reception in the morning, they told us they knew about the issue the night before and just hadn't told us. We asked for confirmation in writing and were told that the receptionist couldn't do this because it was the end of his shift. When challenged on this, he then changed to "the manager won't be here until 9". Later in the evening, the same employee refused to provide anything in writing and assured that we'd get a refund when they were contacted by Hotels.com. They're now refusing any efforts by Hotels.com to contact them. In addition to all of this, the room smelled like cigarette smoke, had no overhead light in the main area of the room, and was old, dated and in poor shape. The beds were very uncomfortable. Definitely would not recommend. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in for both quality and service."
