Rooms are motel style and are dated (don’t be fooled by the online photos) but room was clean, breakfast was good and staff were all fantastic and very accommodating with late check out, late breakfast (made to order so we could eat after Hillsborough Parkrun) and parking for the Wednesday match. Perfect location for Hillsborough Parkrun and Hillsborough stadium, will definitely be back! Thank you!

The staffs were super friendly, the breakfast was outstanding. I can tell this hotel has history as so many elderly couples chose there for staying. There is a Morrison just right across the road, and a MacDonald behind the hotel. It perfectly juggle both young and elder generation.

Didn’t have breakfast. The staff are a brilliant asset for the hotel, nothing was too much for them and they did it with a smile, sometimes in the face of adversity, I can’t praise them highly enough, my only concern is that the hotel is really in need of an upgrade, in particular the door/key system seriously needs looking at.

A couple of miles out of town but well located. Rooms clean and today, breakfast decent quality however the breakfast room itself feels dated and could do with a modern refresh. There’s a lot of empty space in the dining room which could be lifted with some sofas and a tv perhaps to make it feel more welcoming

Fascinating history

Really enjoyed staying at the Garrison. The receptionist gave me a fascinating history of the building and its various uses over the centuries. Cosy little bar, with friendly service. The hotel was comfortable quiet and the breakfast was outstanding. I’ll definitely be coming back.
